I love when science and pop culture meet. You get some of the best things ever. In this case, you get a dinosaur named after a fictional dog monster from one of my favorite movies ever.... Ghostbusters.
The dinosaur was discovered in a Montana quarry where people were looking for Fossils. Victoria Arbor and David Evans are the ones who had been studying it over the past year when they came to the conclusion that it was a new species of dinosaur. As they were studying it, Victoria couldn't help but notice that the dinosaur's skull looked awfully similar to one she was very familiar with. Zuul from the film Ghostbusters. She pitched the idea to her colleague and they ran with it.
As for its species name it is called crurivastator, which means destroyer of shins. So there you go. We have the T-rex, Velociraptor and now the Zuul.

Read More: Meet the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival Filmmakers David Evans' documentary "A Nazi Legacy: What Our Fathers Did" explores what it means to grow up as the child of a mass murderer. While studying the Nuremberg trials, a lawyer becomes interested in the histories of two men, both sons of famous Nazi Governors. The men have completely contrasting perspectives on their father's involvement in the war, and "A Nazi Legacy" explores this curiosity, ruminating on the nature of individual perception. What's your film about in 140 characters or less? Three men journey through Europe to the killing fields of war-time Poland; one of them is Jewish, the other two are sons of senior Nazis. Now what's it Really about? It's about the massive swells of historical destiny and the tiny moments that stay in a person's memory forever: about the roots of Ukrainian nationalism in the bloody turmoil of the Second World War,...

San Francisco (Reuters) - A frenzy of Twitter chatter about a broadcast program generally means more viewers are tuning in, while more popular TV shows generate more Twitter activity, a new study by Nielsen has found.
The media measurement firm says that for the first time it has proved with statistical rigor what many in the media business have suspected in recent years: that a show's ratings and the magnitude of its Twitter buzz are correlated.
While Mike Hess, a Nielsen executive vice president for media analytics, warned the study did not necessarily conclude that Twitter chatter drove more TV viewership, and vice versa.
"While our study doesn't prove causality, the correlation we uncovered is significant and we will continue our research to deepen the industry's understanding of this relationship," Hess said in a statement.

Screen Australia says it has not mismanaged its finances by spending its annual production funding in just six months - a state of affairs which it says reflects the strength of the local film industry.
The government screen agency revealed in mid-December 2012 that it had spent its entire annual $42 million drama production allocation due to the unprecedented number of quality feature film and television projects seeking support. The shock announcement was reminiscent of the agency's abrupt decision to cut its investment cap in 2009 while several films were mid-financed. That decision.threw several major Australian productions into dissaray including The Tree and the biggest box office hit of.2010, Tomorrow When the War Began (Omnilab Media had to increase its investment at the last minute to ensure production).
Overspending on such a scale has never occurred before, even going back to the era of Screen Australia.s predecessor funding arm, the Film Finance Corporation.

There will be plenty of huge Hollywood celebrities at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, which starts today in Park City, Utah, but inevitably, the biggest star of the festival will be someone you probably don’t know yet. Every January, an artist — typically a young filmmaker — comes to Park City with a story to tell (and sell) and emerges as the Next Big Thing. It started with Steven Soderbergh when sex, lies, and videotape opened everyone’s eyes near the dawn of the independent renaissance in 1989, and it became an annual tradition as the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith,...

The fortunate are born with the right name, such as Marlon Brando or Elvis Presley. Others need the magic of a makeover
The 1967 song San Francisco might have been a hit no matter who sang it. But Scott McKenzie, who has died aged 73, also sounded like just the right kind of name for the singer of the old flower-power anthem. Had his record been issued under McKenzie's real name, Philip Blondheim, success might have been harder. Entertainers – even some Guardian journalists – adopt new professional names for different reasons: to abandon an embarrassing given name, like Marion Morrison transforming into John Wayne or Archibald Leach morphing into Cary Grant, to avoid prejudice, or to give their image more edge, like David Evans becoming, er, The Edge or Ronald Wycherley flowering into Billy Fury. The fortunate are simply born with the right name, like Marlon Brando or Elvis Presley. Others need the magic of a makeover.

Last week saw the release of Alexander Payne’s Oscar-winning The Descendants and Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire, and this week brings to our shelves the other big winner at the Academy Awards three months ago, Michel Hazanavicius’ The Artist, alongside (as ever) a slew of other brilliant films.
In tandem with the Universal 100th Anniversary Editions that have already started rolling out, Play begin releasing their exclusive Blu-ray Steelbooks of some of the films this week, and if you’re a fan of Universal’s recent and classic catalogue, you’ll definitely want to invest in more than a few of these, priced at a very reasonable £9.99. There’ll be more of these in the weeks and months to come, as well as non-100th Anniversary Steelbook re-releases, so keep your eyes peeled.
My personal picks of the week:
Drake Doremus’ Like Crazy & Sean Durkin’s Martha Marcy May Marlene...

Forgiveness can set you free. This is the message instilled upon us in the religious drama, The Grace Card. Directed by David Evans and written by Howard Klausner, the film follows the lives of two men, as they become intertwined through the grace of God.
Bill “Mac” McDonald lost his faith a long time ago. After a terrible tragedy took the life of his first son, Mac became so bitter, racist and self-loathing that he shut out his family, and the world. He turned to the police force, becoming a cop in the hopes of preventing future tragedies like the one he experienced. Mac’s remaining son, Blake, is a bit of a delinquent. He’s flunking his senior year of high school, doing drugs and sneaking out at night, not to mention disrespecting his parents. For as long as Blake can remember, his father has laid the blame for...

U2 guitarist The Edge has been told his property development proposal would be one of the all-time 'worst' for environmental devastation. The Elevation rocker - whose real name is David Evans - had a proposal to construct five mansions overlooking Malibu rejected by the California Coastal Commission yesterday (16.06.11), despite making reassurances that the venture would be environmentally-friendly. After turning down the scheme by a vote of 8-4, the commission's executive director Peter Douglas said: 'In 38 years of this commission's existence, this is one of the three worst projects that I've seen in terms of environmental devastation 'It's a contradiction in terms...

There are few things more annoying in the world of music than the overblown egos of Bono, The Edge, and... those other guys. Which is why I'm glad that The Edge's attempt to build five mansions in California's Malibu Hills has been blocked by conservationists, one of whom called it "one of the three worst projects I've seen in terms of environmental devastation." The Edge, whose real name is David Evans, is attempting to build his mansion and four others (!) along a ridge in the Malibu Hills. The battle has been raging since 2006, when Evans hired lobbyists to campaign for his right to build a 156-acre stretch of mansions in one of the few areas in California not already crammed to the gills with entitled glitterati. The Edge's particular mansion is called "Leaves in the Wind," which sounds like a [...]...

When your classmates go on to form U2, and take the limelight away from you, what do you do? Michael sees one possible answer explored in Killing Bono. Here's his review...
Heavily adapted from the memoirs of Telegraph rock critic, Neil McCormick, Killing Bono starts thrillingly, before falling into the frustrating, unpleasant space between fact and fiction.
Its opening is both promising and entirely made up. In 1987, Neil (Ben Barnes) careens through the streets of Dublin, which are draped with posters teasing an exclusive launch party for The Joshua Tree, the latest album from U2. In between swerves, he breaks the fourth wall, staring at the camera as we hear of his thwarted dreams. "I always knew I'd be famous," he crows, but little did he know that it would be his two classmates, Paul Hewson (Martin McCann) and David Evans (Mark Griffin), later known as Bono and The Edge,...

Weekend Box Office: February 18th through the 20th With the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday and the Oscars on Sunday, all eyes were on the tons of acceptance speeches. Denmark’s “In a Better World” took home Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars while “The King’s Speech” won Best Foreign Film at the Spirit Awards and had it's big night yesterday. One short-list nominated film and Cannes winner (final nine) that was noticeably absent from the winner’s circle was Xavier Beauvois’ Of Gods and Men which debuted domestically this past weekend (on the same weekend it picked up the Best Film award at France's Oscar ceremony equivalent). The French film released by Sony Pictures Classics raked in $66,900 in only three locations (good enough for a $22,300 average). The numbers look good for further expansion come next weekend. In a more aggressive effort, Samuel Goldwyn Films released The Grace Card on 352 screens.

A trend has developed recently in which films made outside of the Hollywood studio structure are being marketed by the big studios. And to the surprise of some in Hollywood, these projects are being met with success. There are several factors at work here, but most notably it is due to two things: the overwhelming success of The Passion of the Christ through unorthodox, grass-roots marketing efforts and the fact that the equipment necessary to produce a studio quality film is now readily available to just about anyone. So, recently there have been a couple of movies produced by a church in Georgia that showed enough promise and were high enough quality that Sony saw an opportunity to market them in the faith-based community. It is funny how Hollywood doesn’t like to acknowledge religion in a good way but they want to make money off of it,...

One serendipitous event that occurred during the pre-production of the movie The Grace Card sums up just how things have changed in the movie industry in the last decade. The director of the film, Dr. David Evans, an optometrist from Memphis, Tn, had recently made a significant investment for his fledgling movie studio, Graceworks Pictures, when he purchased a camera and equipment in preparation for the onset of filming. Unfortunately, after he had made his purchase, he spoke with someone in the industry who informed him that if he wanted his film to be “studio quality,” he would not be able to use the camera that he had just purchased. This individual suggested he use a “Red camera.” The problem was that he had already blown a significant portion of his...

The Edge has become embroiled in a legal dispute with the state of California over his plans to build five homes in Malibu. The U2 guitarist, born David Evans, insists that the dwellings due to be erected along the Pacific Coast Highway will be "environmentally friendly" - an assertion disputed by local officials who claim that the construction would ruin the area, reports The AP. The California Coastal Commission filed court documents last week, explaining: "The area (more)...

The United Nations Foundation will premiere today “A New Picture of Health,” a groundbreaking documentary about the work of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and its ongoing impact in saving millions of lives – particularly those of women and children – across the developing world.
“In less than a decade, close to six million lives have been saved by Global Fund programs,” said Timothy E. Wirth, President of the Un Foundation. "This documentary paints a compelling picture of why continued support will help the Global Fund save and improve the well-being of mothers and children across the globe.
Narrated by Dr. Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and Un Messenger of Peace, the film chronicles how U.S. investments in health are empowering communities and putting an end to diseases of poverty. Things got a little feisty on 'The Huckabee Show' (weekdays, syndicated). Actor and comedian Tommy Chong was invited on the show to discuss marijuana legalization. Chong is best known for his pothead-based performances in the 'Up in Smoke' series of movies. So, it was understandable that he'd have a different point of view about "legalizing it," as compared to the conservative Mike Huckabee. But then, Chong started to get annoyed -- and that's when the anger, the interrupting, and the use of a curse word happened.
Tommy repeatedly accused Huckabee and fellow guest David Evans of lying about the effects of pot use. Eventually, Chong just got mad and started directly fighting with Huckabee.
"You're getting paid to say what you're sayin'," Chong said to Huckabee. " ... You get paid to recite all the lies."
Huckabee admitted to getting paid for his show, but denied...

U2 guitarist The Edge is fighting protesters in California who want to stop him building a five-home development. The 47-year-old musician - real name David Evans - insists his plans to build on 156 acres of land which he purchased for £6.4 million, will not be intrusive to the scenery of the exclusive Sierra Canyon district of Malibu and thinks he will eventually win over local residents who are currently opposed to his ideas. He said: "I believe most of the local opposition is softening as I communicate my intentions of how these homes will collectively compliment the landscape. "There is a small group of locals who are very vocal and simply want to stop all development of any kind."...
