She made her Broadway debut with Shirley Booth in "By the Beautiful Sea" in 1954.
Other Broadway appearances include "The Great Sebastians" with Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in 1955; "The School for Scandel" substituting for Helen Hayes; and as Vera Charles in the 1966 Broadway production of "Mame" with Angela Landsbury.
Her last Broadway appearance was in 1987 as Mrs. Harcourt in "Anything Goes" with Patti LuPone.
She taught at the annual cabaret symposium held at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut.
