The UK's entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest will be revealed next week.
This year's artist and song will be unveiled on Saturday, March 7 straight after The Voice UK on the BBC's Red Button service.
Guy Freeman, BBC Editor for Special Events, said: "Last autumn, we opened the sparkling Eurovision door to anyone who wished to submit a song and performer for consideration as our UK entry for the 2015 Contest.
"The result of that open submission process was a very impressive collection of songs, of every conceivable type, that came in from a huge variety of amateur and professional writers and performers. Thank you to everyone who made the effort and got involved.
"Some of the submitted songs were easily good enough to be commercial tracks straight away and others had clear potential, so it wasn't hard to draw up an initial shortlist of interesting contenders. What we did next,...

The 27-year-old singer-songwriter is Britain's entry for the annual European competition this year, but she's admitted she initially turned it down when BBC producer Guy Freeman - who is in charge of the British selection - asked her to represent the nation. Molly told The Times newspaper: ''I had a preconception about what Eurovision was and didn't see myself in it. ''I was flattered, but for the past four years I've not been courting the world of celebrity so I explained that it was a nice pat on the back but...

A few weeks ago, it was confirmed that Matt Smith would be making his exit from the iconic role of Doctor Who at the end of the year.
Smith will be staying on for the next two episodes – the 50th Anniversary Special, due to air on November 23rd; and the Christmas Special – before handing over the keys to the kingdom to the next generation.
