Controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) found herself under fire for a groping incident at a performance of Beetlejuice again at a GOP primary debate in her home state on Friday. In September 2023, Boebert made headlines after the lawmaker behaved inappropriately at a performance of the musical in Denver.
Boebert was caught vaping, singing and recording on her cellphone during the performance. Her disruptive behavior caused the representative to be escorted out of the venue. Boebert was also seen groping her date inappropriately while seated. Employees had given Boebert several warnings to stop her behavior before the situation escalated.
Boebert briefly addressed the situation in a post on social media platform X, writing, “It’s true, I did thoroughly enjoy the Amazing Beetlejuice at the Buell Threate, and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!”
The congresswoman eventually confessed to lying about the incident and apologized.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) blamed Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Barbra Streisand for her decision to switch districts and accused them of attempting to influence the outcome of the congressional race with donations to her Democratic opponent, Adam Frisch.
Boebert made these claims in an interview on Steve Bannon‘s War Room podcast and emphasized that her move from Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District to the 4th Congressional District was driven by her commitment to defend and advance conservative principles.
In the interview, Boebert asserted the need for a strong conservative voice in her new district and expressed her determination to counter the alleged influence of Hollywood elites. She claimed that nearly $10 million had been funneled into her current district in an effort to “purchase” the seat, and added that the Colorado 3rd District was not for sale.

When Lauren Boebert put some blame on Hollywood for forcing her to switch Colorado districts in her reelection bid, she was just the latest in a long line of Republicans to target the industry and its lopsided support for the left.
Not a cycle goes by where some GOP candidate doesn’t attack Hollywood, with a donor pool that overwhelmingly backs Democrats.
Speaking over the weekend to Steve Bannon for his podcast, Boebert accused “Hollywood elites who are trying to buy my current district.” “It’s not just Aspen that the money is coming from,” she said. “It’s coming from Hollywood. When you have Barbra Streisand coming in and donating to the Democrat, when you have Ryan Reynolds coming in and donating to the Democrat, it shows you that Hollywood is trying to buy their way into Congress.”

In the wake of Kanye West’s horrific media tour spouting love for Hitler, denying the Holocaust, and preaching naked antisemitism, many far-right members of the GOP are scrubbing their social media feeds of past praise for the rapper. A notable exception to that trend is Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) who has preserved her praise of the artist now known as Ye.
The Republican Party has little celebrity outside of hoary rockers like Ted Nugent, Kid Rock, and Lee Greenwood, so it wasn’t surprising when GOP figures hyped Ye...

Whoopi Goldberg had no patience for Lauren Boebert’s “prayers” for the victims of the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs this weekend during Monday’s episode of “The View.” That’s because, as Whoopi pointed out, the congresswoman has been a vocal opponent of LGBTQ+ rights.
On Saturday night, a gunman opened fire in an LGBTQ club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, killing five people and injuring at least 25 others, authorities said. In response, Boebert tweeted that “The news out of Colorado Springs is absolutely awful. This morning the victims & their families are in my prayers. This lawless violence needs to end and end quickly.” But, according to Whoopi, Boebert needs to offer more than just prayers.
“They don’t really need your prayers and thoughts. They needed your votes,” Whoopi said bluntly. “That’s what they need.”

Update, 8:28 Am: Sen. Ron Johnson (R-wi) was projected to defeat Mandela Barnes to win reelection, according to CNN and other networks.
That raises the prospects that control of the U.S. Senate may come down to a runoff race in Georgia, where Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-ga) leads Republican Herschel Walker, but may fall short of the 50 threshold to win outright.
In the two other outstanding Senate races, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-az) leads in his reelection bid against Republican Blake Masters, but Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-nv) trails Republican Adam Laxalt. If those hold, Democrats would need the Georgia seat to tie the Senate 50-50, which is the way things stand now.
Johnson’s victory is a significant defeat for Democrats, who viewed him as one of the GOP’s most vulnerable incumbents. But Johnson hammered Barnes on the issue of crime during the general election campaign, cutting into his polling lead.

The debate between Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and her Democratic challenger, Adam Frisch, hadn’t even begun, and already the crowd was booing the congresswoman.
When both candidates were asked if they agree to the rules of the debate held Saturday night, Frisch quickly agreed. But Boebert instead attacked the moderator, Edie Sonn of the Colorado Behavioral Health Council, claiming that in 2020, Sonn tweeted that she supported Boebert’s then-opponent, former state Rep. Dianne Mitsch Busch.
“This debate is not about me,” Sonn responded, but Boebert kept attacking, prompting boos from the crowd.

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards are fast approaching, which means that in only a few weeks you'll be treated to an excellent night of performances and appearances by the likes of Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence and the Machine, B.o.B and Deadmau5 (who will serve as the house DJ at the show). While people tend to remember the classic performances and the unhinged moments, the coveted Moonman is the reason why people show up and tune in. This year, there are 16 categories wherein some of the biggest music stars in the universe will compete for the coolest trophy in awards shows. Today, we take a look at the nominees in the Best Cinematography category.
Though the main event of the music video tends to be the song, most should be able to work even if the sound is put on mute. That's where cinematography comes into play.
