Galentine's companion was Harold Eliot Leeds (1 Apr 1913-1929 Oct 2002), who founded the graduate program of Interior Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
The brownstone on 64 Perry Street that he shared for many years with his partner Harold Leeds in the West Village of Manhattan served as the façade for Carrie Bradshaw's apartment in the first three seasons of the HBO series, Sex and the City (1998).
