Hugo García was born in Valencia, Venezuela. He kicked off his acting career
impressing theatre audiences in many productions presented in Miami,
Florida. He has left a lasting impression on both audiences and critics
sealing his place in the Latin theatre scene.
Hugo has also made a gratifying transition into film and television. He
was cast as one of the lead characters in "Estamos Unidos", the first
comedy sitcom to be produced by Univision. He has also participated in
sitcoms, drama series, soap operas, and variety shows aired on
Univision and Telemudo and has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC.
Also appeared as a Guest Star on Graceland on USA Network, Notorious and
Mixology on ABC and Teachers on TVLand.
Film has provided the opportunity to show his ample acting range
appearing in both comedic and dramatic roles. In 2005 both of his
films, a comedy and a drama, premiered at the Chicago Latino Film
Festival to positive reviews. His latest film 'A Day's Work" has been
screened and gone on to win several awards in the film festival circuit
both in the U.S. and internationally. "A Day's Work" has also been
honored with the 2008 Student Academy Award for Narrative Filmmaking.
His work in theatre, television, and film has helped him establish a
reputation for having a natural talent for his craft.
