It’s a sequel to several MCU projects, including ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp,’ ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,’ ‘Black Widow,’ and ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ Originally scheduled for a July 2024 release, the film is now expected to hit theaters on December 20, 2024.
The film’s cast includes a blend of familiar and new faces. Sebastian Stan returns as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, alongside Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Wyatt Russell will appear as John Walker/U.S. Agent, with Olga Kurylenko reprising her role as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster.

Since the end of his run on The Walking Dead, Steven Yeun has thrown himself into all sorts of projects, including Nope and Minari, which earned him a Best Actor Oscar nomination. We suppose it was only a matter of time before the mighty casting maw of Marvel came to call, and Deadline reports that Yeun is joining the ensemble of Thunderbolts.
No-one will be surprised to learn that Yeun's role is being key quiet, though the site's report mentions that not only is he significant in this film but appears likely to recur in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Thunderbolts, which has Jake Schreier directing and Black Widow's Eric Pearson on script duty, will follow a team of not-quite heroes gathered by Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to carry out secret missions, with some fresh-faced kid called (checks notes) Harrison Ford also aboard as Thaddeus Ross.

The cast of Marvel‘s Thunderbolts is ready to welcome Minari and Nope star Steven Yeun to the fold! According to Deadline, the Oscar-nominated actor is joining Thunderbolts for a critical role. While the details of Yeun’s character remain a mystery, he could appear in multiple future projects. If I had to guess who Yeun is playing, my money would be on Nova or Sentry. I’m stabbing in the dark, so don’t take my word on it. It’s just a gut feeling I have.

David Harbour is a relative newcomer to the MCU — he debuted his role as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian in 2021’s Black Widow and is set to reprise the character in the upcoming Thunderbolts team-up.
So when it came time to learn everything he could about his future castmates, he turned to We Have a Ghost co-star Anthony Mackie, who had some particular advice about his franchise frenemy, Sebastian Stan, who will also be appearing in Thunderbolts as Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier.
“Sebastian is a very nice person,” Mackie said with a grin as he and co-star Jahi Di’Allo Winston spoke with Et’s Ash Crossan this week.
“Don’t take his quietness and standoffishness as him being mean or rude. You just have to warm him up a little bit,” he teased. “You know, give him some almond butter, talk to him a little bit. He’ll be fine.

It’s over! It’s officially over. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally in our rear view mirror, and what did we learn? We learned that Marvel Studios wasn’t going to stop taking risks after capping off Phase 3 with the box office juggernaut of Avengers: Endgame. In fact, they were going to take more risks than ever. Sometimes, those risks paid off. Other times, they did not. But during a transformative time for the MCU, Phase 4 was, for the most part, determined not to offer the one thing that would have made older fans happy but would have perhaps discouraged newer, younger fans from emerging: more of the same.
As such, the MCU got a whole slate of brand-new and diverse characters. Moon Knight, the Eternals, Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova, John Walker, Ironheart, Agatha, Red Guardian, Clea, Echo,...

To say that "The Bear" was the unexpected cultural breakout of 2022 would be an understatement, and that can be seen in the rising career trajectory of its co-lead, Ayo Edebiri. Now, she's about to enter a whole new world of prominence, as she's officially been cast in Marvel Studios' "Thunderbolts." Deadline broke the news, which revealed that her role is being kept under wraps. So much so that Marvel themselves declined to comment on the casting.
There is a lot to say about how Marvel seems to grab rising talent at an alarming rate. It's like every time a new and talented actor or director comes onto the scene, Marvel seems to swoop in and commit them to at least one project. That being said, at least ir grabbed Edebiri for arguably its most interesting project moving forward. While exact details are understandably being kept a secret, we do know...

Deadline has reported that Ayo Edebiri, who broke out in a significant way last year starring alongside Jeremy Allen White in FX’s The Bear, has joined the cast of Marvel’s Thunderbolts movie in a “new secret role.“
Thunderbolts should be a big boost for Ayo Edebiri, who has won plenty of praise for her work on The Bear. The FX series stars Jeremy Allen White as a young chef from the world of fine dining who returns to run his family’s restaurant after the suicide of his older brother, who left behind debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff. Edebiri plays Sydney Adamu, a talented but inexperienced chef who joins the restaurant as its new sous chef. When characters have been around for decades, a number of people tend to leave their creative fingerprints on them. For example, Captain America was created in 1940 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby for Timely Comics. He was a World War II soldier that went above and beyond the call of duty to aid in the fight against the Axis powers, particularly the Nazis. Later, when the company transitioned to Marvel, Stan Lee brought Cap into the modern day in 1963's "The Avengers" #4 as part of the popular super team. From there, a number of extremely talented people like Ed Brubaker, Mark Gruenwald, Roger Stern, Mark Waid, and Ta-Nehisi Coates have crafted character-defining stories for the Star-Spangled Man With A Plan. But as a character goes from creator to creator, they may change slightly. While it's certainly possible for people (fictional or otherwise) to be multifaceted in their personalities, those changes...

Marvel's "Thunderbolts" movie is still over a year away, but that won't stop Marvel fans — and the team here at /Film — from speculating about what the introduction of the "Suicide Squad"-like group of ragtag antiheroes will mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. There have been plenty of early theories swirling around about the group that includes Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov (David Harbour), Ava Starr (Hannah John-Kamen), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and Antonia Dreykov (Olga Kurylenko), but Harbour is apparently ready to throw a metaphorical bomb into all of them.

Major spoilers ahead for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."
"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is a story about grief and loss, high stakes, and the discovery that not every society on earth lives on land. It looks at the effects of colonization and of vibranium envy on the world stage. It also gives us a little bit of backstory about a certain CIA agent and his romantic connections. This is your last chance to turn back before the news is revealed.
Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), a friend of Wakanda and a CIA and Joint Counter Terrorist Centre agent, is back in the new film as a source of information about who exactly created the machine that allowed the American government to search under the water for vibranium. This article contains spoilers for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
If there’s one thing that Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever nailed, it was a surprise cameo that no one saw coming. Away from the shock return of Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, the writers managed to keep a lid on Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Alongside nods to Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and trade agreements with New Asgard, Wakanda Forever has a major tie to the wider MCU that sets up Jake Schreier’s Thunderbolts.
Hoping to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s answer to DC’s Suicide Squad, the Thunderbolts are a shady cabal of anti-heroes pulled directly from the pages of Marvel Comics. Although some have questioned a Captain America-heavy lineup that includes John Walker/US Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), others think it makes perfect sense given where the franchise is right now.

This article contains She-Hulk spoilers
Apart from Wanda Maximoff, few people have had as much trouble in love as Jennifer Walters in the Marvel Cinematic. Across eight episodes of She-Hulk, we’ve watched Tatiana Maslany’s hotshot lawyer be mocked as little more than a “specimen” by a rogue’s gallery of mediocre males. However, in October 6’s “Ribbit and Rip It,” we saw Jen stick a middle finger to the patriarchy with a deep cut to toxic tropes in pop culture.
Apart from winks like Eternals’ Ikaris bring compared to Superman, the MCU tends to avoid Easter eggs to DC. She-Hulk already walked the line with a nippled costume from Luke Jacobson (Griffin Matthews) being a potential nod to the infamous Batman & Robin suits, but if you were listening carefully, you might’ve heard a Green Lantern Easter egg. After doing the deed with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jen...

Back at San Diego Comic Con, Marvel Studios announced that Thunderbolts would be the grand finale to MCU Phase 5. Fans had been excited to see if the classic Marvel Comics antihero squad would emerge in the MCU, and now we know that they will. Not only that, D23 has given us a look at what the team’s roster looks like! It’s a wild line-up that makes plenty of sense and has the potential to be an awesome team-up movie. Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is calling the shots, and Yelena Belova appears to be the leader, alongside the Red Guardian, Winter Soldier, US Agent, Taskmaster, and Ghost.
It’s not the most versatile team. With a little too much emphasis on super soldiers and highly trained assassins, the team’s main superpowers include phasing through walls, the ability to copy fighting styles,...

I’m just going to say right off the bat that Play Motel didn’t do a whole lot for me. This effort from writer/director Mario Gariazzo comes straight out of the sleaziest, trashiest Italian cinema bargain bin. And here’s the thing, I like that bin. I’m a fan of a lot of Italian sleaze. Play Motel […]...

Purveyors of Eurotrash should delight in the resuscitation of the obscure 1979 eroto-giallo Play Motel, directed by Mario Gariazzo under the pseudonym Roy Garrett (a director of twenty or so features best remembered for casting into a sea of Friedkin capitalizations with 1974’s The Sexorcist, aka L’Ossessa aka Enter the Devil). By this period, the provocative Italian subgenre was already well into its dog days, with imitators churning out murder mysteries imbibed with a healthy dose of pornographic soft-core elements. It would be unfair to rightly classify Gariazzo’s film as classic giallo, a muddled narrative cramped significantly by enough naked women to rival Jesus Franco.
The sleazy Play Motel is a den of infamous iniquity, and wealthy businessman Rinaldo Cortesi (Enzio Fisichella) hires the voluptuous Loredana (Marina Frajese) for a kinky round of S&M. The next day, explicit pictures are sent to his office via registered mail in...

Getting the most out of this year's Cannes Film Festival, Nicole Kidman attended a private dinner party hosted by Colin and Livia Firth in Cannes, France on Friday (May 17).
Looking chic in an all-white ensemble and black jacket, the "Stepford Wives" actress boarded the John Walker and Sons voyager yacht to enter the swanky event.
Aside from the party this evening, Nicole has been making her rounds at the annual film fest. Earlier this week, the Australian stunner hit up the Ifp and Calvin Klein party where she mingled with other fellow A-listers including Carey Mulligan.
Kidman was also on hand for "The Great Gatsby" showing as well as joining Steven Spielberg for a Jury photo call.

Ah, Lanzarote. Beautiful scenery. Bright sunshine. Hot temperatures - something that's urgently needed in Britain at the moment, given the freezing temperatures. Oh, and of course, the age-old stereotype of one or two pasty-faced British tattooed blobbos or high-heeled bimbos waving beer bottles in the air and bellowing Oasis songs at top whack - although any package holiday deal in a hot, sunny country will inevitably attract these sorts.
One keen visitor is the good Doctor, who arrives in the scorching heat of Lanzarote, on the trail of a distress signal that's being beamed from a rather dodgy-looking artefact. And before you know it, he's off to the planet of Sarn (which uncannily looks like the beautiful vistas of Lanzarote), where he runs - yet again - into his arch-nemesis, The Master.
That may sound simple to you, but imagine the look on Peter Grimwade's face when the Who...
