Her family moved to Los Angeles after her sister Teala was signed to a movie contract by Paramount. Lisa had a screen test at Universal International and signed with them in 1953.
She graduated from Hollywood Professional School in June 1953.
Her parents are Frank Henry Griffin, a painter, and Margaret Griffin, an actress.
She had a daughter, Lisa Janell (born July 5, 1963), with her husband, Bently.
Was once up for the role of Anita in the film version of West Side Story (1961), which
ultimately went to Rita Moreno, who won the Academy Award.
