the Spartan Academic Excellence Gala - April 2000.
Selected by the Baltimore Bullets (now the Washington Wizards) 96th overall in the 1964 NBA draft, Gent opted to play football, and signed as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys.
Graduated Bangor High School (Bangor, Michigan) in 1960. Lettered in
football, basketball, and baseball.
Graduated from Michigan State University. Received his BA in
Advertising in 1964 after attending MSU on a basketball scholarship. He
finished as the 2nd leading scorer in MSU history (at the time) and
went on to play in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys from
1964-1969.
