It seems Olivia Newton-John's passing was not sudden for her family. On Aug. 8, the beloved Grease actress died in her Southern California home, her husband John Easterling announced on Instagram. Just a day after her passing, Olivia's niece has shared further information about the actress' declining health amid her decades long battle with breast cancer. "It wasn't just the cancer that got her, it was other complications, being in a hospital and with a very susceptible immune system," Totti Goldsmith told Australia's 9 Now News. "She got secondary infections. She really went down in the past five, six...

Robyn Nevin in ‘Relic’.
Former Australian Writers’ Guild president Jan Sardi and actor Robyn Nevin were among the screen professionals to receive Queen’s Birthday Honours over the long weekend.
Sardi, Oscar-nominated for Shine and whose credits also include Mao’s Last Dancer and Love’s Brother, was named an Officer to the Order of Australia (Ao) for distinguished service to the film and television industries as a screenwriter and director, and to professional guilds.
Co-collaborator Mac Gudgeon, who worked with Sardi on projects like Ground Zero and The Secret River, said: “It’s a richly deserved honour. Not only because Jan’s a bloody good writer, but because it’s recognition of his selfless service, generosity of spirit, and courage and persistence in fighting for performance writers’ creative rights and remuneration for over 40 years.
“And the timing couldn’t be more ironic given Jan’s passionate advocacy for what’s unique about Australian culture,...

Australian singer and actress Olivia Newton-John has battled cancer three separate times since 1992, with the September announcement that doctors had discovered a tumor at the base of her spine the most recent. Tabloid outlets began circulating reports that her that Newton-John’s “bodily functions [appeared] to be shutting down” and that she was “clinging to life” (which Radar Online reported last week), and despite protestations from her management team and later her niece Tottie Goldsmith — who first called the reports “a sick rumor” and then posted a recent photo on Instagram of herself and Newton-John saying she is “in good health” — the reports persisted.
But late Wednesday, the 70-year-old singer and “Grease” star confronted the reports herself, posting a video on her Facebook page in which she says, with good humor that reports of her imminent demise have been “greatly exaggerated.”

Olivia Newton-John has spoken out after claims she was on her deathbed.
After reports began circulating that the singer’s condition had taken a turn for the worse, with claims that her body was “shutting down” and that she only had “weeks” to live, Newton-John reassured her fans that she was doing just fine.
In a video posted to her social media account on Wednesday, the 70-year-old Grease actress — who announced in 2017 she’d been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her back — borrowed the words of Mark Twain and explained that the recent claims were merely “greatly exaggerated” rumors.

The supermodel mom linked up with the dashing entrepreneur, the 33-year-old brother of Australian singer and actress Tottie Goldsmith, in Sydney Harbour on May 17. The two laughed and took in the views as Miranda's son, Flynn, hung out nearby. While Miranda showed off her cleavage in a sleeveless black dress, Charlie went casual in a t-shirt and towel wrapped around his bathing suit. At one point, Charlie went shirtless as Miranda appeared to dote on him, and the two even captured the moment with a cute selfie. Miranda posted a few fun snaps of the sunny day, none of which feature Charlie, who has reportedly said he's just a family friend of the Kerr's. Following her friendly split from Orlando Bloom last October, Miranda opened...

Australian singer/actress Tottie Goldsmith has issued a statement to insist she is innocent of allegations she was caught carrying drugs at a music festival over the weekend (22-23Jan11).
The former Neighbours star was reportedly stopped by police with sniffer dogs on suspicion of cocaine possession as she entered the Hot Barbeque event at Portsea, south of Melbourne, on Saturday.
