A horror movie about a cannibalistic Winnie-the-Pooh is making quite an impression overseas.
The film from director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is proving to be an extremely bankabale hit following its debut in Mexico.
Despite having what has been described as an “ultra-low” budget, the film – titled Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey – made just under 1m (£827.4m) at the box office weeks before it’s released in other countries, including the UK, US and Japan.
In Blood and Honey, Winnie and another Milne character, Piglet, go on a “cannibalistic rampage” after being abandoned by Christopher Robin
The film, which sees Piglet kill somebody in a swimming pool, became a viral sensation after images of the murderous AA Milne character surfaced online in May 2021.
Frake-Waterfield told Variety that this took him by surprise as everyone thought Blood and Honey would “absolutely bomb”.

That old Technical Boogey Man took us out of theme on Friday, but we’re back today with plenty to share including more backstage dish from USA Network‘s Covert Affairs. For example, how Chris Gorman trained to be “blind”, how Piper Peabo speaks all those languages and why the producers can’t seem to plan ahead. Plus those Watchmen 2 rumors and an early Christmas gift for Fringe fans.

The cast of USA’s Covert Affairs visited Comic-Con and we spoke with the stars of the show, Piper Perabo who plays Annie Walker, and international agent in the C.I.A. and Chris Gorman who plays her field leader Auggie Anderson. BuzzFocus caught up with them briefly to talk about the current season. BuzzFocus: As she gains experience in the field, will Annie’s training, mmissions, and the stakes get raised as she continues along the ranks of an agent? Piper Perabo: One thing that we’re trying to hold onto at least in the early seasons is that rookie quality. First of all it’s more true to real life. Just because you’ve had a job for a one year doesn’t mean that you’re the best in the world at it. For the fact that it’s closer to reality we’re keeping her a rookie.

The freshmen season of USA's newest show Covert Affairs is well underway and last week it was picked up for a second year. Piper Perabo known mostly from Coyote Ugly and Beverly Hills Chihuahua plays Annie Walker, a newbie CIA officer, and Chris Gorham from Ugly Betty plays Auggie Anderson, an agent showing her the ropes even though he has been blinded in an accident.
Like Annie, the creators of the show are pretty new to their line of work as well. In fact Matt Corman and Chris Ord have never produced another series and have only written one other script, the film Deck the Halls starring Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick. So what qualifies them to write, produce, and run their own series for USA? A great idea. That's all you need.

The freshmen season of USA's newest show Covert Affairs is well underway and so far reviews are positive and buzz is building. Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly and Bevery Hills Chihuahua) plays Annie Walker a newbie CIA officer and Chris Gorham (Ugly Betty) plays Auggie Anderson, a blind agent showing her the ropes. Adding to the drama is also Annie's sister and roommate, Danielle (played by Anne Dudek), who doesn't know she's a CIA agent. Other CIA employees include Annie's boss Arthur Campell (played by Peter Gallagher), his wife Joan (played by Kari Matchett), and Jai Wilcox (played by Sendhil Ramamrthy).
We spoke to series' creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord about the casting process, the complex relationships between the characters, and who we might expect to see for guest stars this season.
After the jump, read the what they had to say and see...
