NEW YORK -- BBC Worldwide America said Thursday that it has named Michele Grant executive vp of news and sport in a revamping of the channel's news coverage.
Grant had been senior vp global news development for BBC News in the United States. Her new job will give her responsibility for the commissioning and development of news programs for BBC Worldwide.
The channel said she will work closely with Rome Hartman, the former CBS News exec who is executive producer of the soon-to-be nightly newscast for BBC World News and BBC America. She'll also work on the partnership between ABC News and the BBC.
Among her accomplishments while at the BBC, where she has worked out of the Washington, D.C., office, was developing broadband strategy and launching the channel's work on You Tube.
