A breach of contract suit over claims that producer and director Kevin Shulman was shut out of Manson family murder movie Charlie Says goes to trial on Monday, setting the stage for a showdown on whether he was cheated out of a producer credit and the fees to go along with it.
Shulman and Jeremy Rosen allegedly entered into an oral agreement in 2010 to develop and produce a film based on the Mason family murders. Together, they optioned the rights to Ed Sanders’ 1971 novel The Family and set out to assemble a team of investors and crew. They drafted producer Dana Guerin and reunited screenwriter Guinevere Turner and director Mary Harron, known for their work on American Psycho.
Under their deal, Shulman and Rosen agreed to equally share all producer fees, as well as any back-end fees and participation, to be no less than five percent of the 5.5 million budget,...

A wedding, an engagement and a journey to another planet — fans got all that and more in the series finale of “Roswell, New Mexico” on Monday night. And according to showrunner Chris Hollier, a lot of the night’s events were always the plan for the pod squad — except maybe Malex’s wedding.
Don’t worry, Michael Guerin (Michael Vlamis) and Alex Manes (Tyler Blackburn) were always meant for each other. Even Blackburn told TheWrap he’d have been “pissed” if the men didn’t get the ending they deserved. And indeed, Hollier told TheWrap this week that the “Roswell” writers “always knew there was a happy ending” for the pairing.
“We’d always talked about, like, the fact that we were starting Season 4 with a proposal, we expected people would have a wedding,” Hollier explained. “So how can we surprise them with what that wedding would be? And the answer was,...

Wow, did this hour simultaneously excite and sadden, or was it just me?
Weeks and weeks have passed out here since Alex fell victim to dimension-bending quicksand (though it's only been a few days for the characters), and Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 11 finally saw his emergence. A wonderful time for both the audience and Michael.
And while the reunion was every bit the romantic spectacle it was worthy of, it came with a bittersweet coda. This is Roswell, New Mexico, after all.
At its core, Roswell is a story about relationships. That's always been the draw. And while the sci-fi elements and alien plotlines are fun, audiences have always been drawn to the character first and foremost.
And Roswell has some of the best.
The friendships and romantic relationships were at the forefront of this installment, with the big three couples all getting their moments to shine. But none...

What a way to end an hour!
Roswell loves itself a cliffhanger, and Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 4 was no different in that respect, as we continued to learn more about Tezca and what she's ultimately after.
Okay, technically, we still aren't 100 sure what she's doing, but at least we know a little bit more about her reign of terror!
If you had alien shapeshifters on your bingo card, then you must be having a fabulous night.
This series has seen its share of bad guys, but Tezca is a whole new animal. The group knows nothing about her, which puts them at a significant disadvantage, and until this point, they didn't even know what she looked like.
Things with Tezca and the new triad are unfolding slowly, but this felt like the first installment with serious forward momentum. This was much less set-up and more exploration and explanation.

Life in Roswell post-Alex disappearing into the sand is pretty much the same.
If you were hoping Alex's mysterious kidnapping would be dealt with swiftly, then you were in for a shock on Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 3 because news of Alex evaporating into the sand hasn't made its way to the alien/human crew yet.
No, this hour was all about gathering information, stopping Bonnie and Clyde, and super awkward double dates in adorable wine barns! Let's dive in.
This was a set-up hour pretty much from beginning to end, even if there were some shocks along the way.
We are building toward an inevitable battle against whatever Tezca is helping start, the Alighting or perhaps even something else. The show is taking its sweet time revealing the puzzle, which isn't unique for Roswell, but this time it's just not as gripping as seasons past.
That's not to say...

Fans of Roswell, New Mexico, were given some bad news last week.
The sci-fi reboot has been canceled after four seasons.
The good news?
We still have an entire season to watch before the residents of the alien-filled town say goodbye for good.
The CW dropped the official trailer this week, and it teases the coming events in a big way.
While the show isn't getting a pre-planned conclusion, the ending is supposed to be satisfying enough for longtime fans.
“Mark Pedowitz [and] his team at The CW had the class [and] grace to warn the shows that they might not survive, even if The CW wanted them,” executive producer Julie Plec tweeted of Roswell and Legacies over the weekend.
“Because of that, the season finales of both shows were carefully crafted to also work as series finales.”

We love a good ship over here at TV Fanatic.
Lucky for us, 2021 gave us a ton of fun romantic relationships to gush over, from new duos setting sail to seasoned ships continuing to bring the passion (Grace and Judd for life).
And we were blessed with some of our all-time favorite ships Finally getting together. Basically, there was a lot of love this past year, and we're not mad about it.
But not every ship is a good ship, or even a tolerable one. And while there were a lot of amazing couples, there were, unfortunately, some not-so-great ones that stood out to us this year as well.
The TV Fanatic staff picked out our current top couples (and a few of the worst), and you can find them all down below!

"Look, we got our interview!" Michael Vlamis said to me as we started our chat about all things Roswell, New Mexico Season 3, and in particular, the upcoming season finale.
I've not so secretly wanted a chance to speak with Michael Vlamis for a long time now because he's the dream interview. Getting to talk to an actor who brings so much heart and soul to the characters he brings to life is all we want as critics. And Vlamis is nothing short of amazing to speak with.
And if that wasn't enough of a treat, I also got a chance to interview EP Christopher Hollier, who speaks about the show with so much reverence and joy.
Both men were open, honest, and incredibly insightful as they talked about some of the best moments of the season at large and gave us a little preview of what's to come on Roswell,...

We all know how this goes.
There are good guys and bad guys. And they battle until eventually the bad guy is defeated and the good guys save the day.
That's what should theoretically happen here, but Jones is a villain unlike any I've ever seen. And he proved again on Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 Episode 11 that it's going to take a perfect plan to bring him down.
Heading into the final two hours, this was an installment that was heavy on the set-up. We can all assume that the finale will be the big inevitable showdown with everyone and their mother versus Jones, and here we started to build toward that.
Jones is a fascinating guy because he's evil, vindictive, manipulative, and devious, but he's also so brilliant. He has such a knack for getting inside people's heads and twisting enough of the truth around to make them...

Exclusive: The Originals alum Andrew Lees and Zoe Cipres (Grown-ish) are set for recurring roles on the upcoming fourth season of the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico.
Written by Carina Adly MacKenzie and directed by Julie Plec, the reimagined Roswell, like the original, is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz.
Lees will play Clyde, part of a duo of thieves robbing Roswell’s banks, determined to steal back what’s rightfully theirs. He is a man with deeply held beliefs, fighting to keep his family on the right path — and sees a potential ally in Michael (Michael Vlamis).
Cipres will play Bonnie, the other half of the duo of thieves who roll into town to hit up a few of Roswell’s banks, determined to take what they believe to be rightfully theirs. Despite her impulsive nature, Bonnie is a caring, voraciously curious woman, struggling to...

Michael Vlamis never dreamed of becoming an actor; therefore, even after making his debut in 2009, he did not pursue acting as a profession. He has always loved playing underdog roles and got his inspiration from Sylvester Stallone in “Rocky” and Matt Damon in “Good Will Hunting.” Today, he has gone beyond acting and has a few scripts to his name. Roswell: Season 2 Episode 13
Roswell’s finale absolutely cruised through a rapid succession of events in the first ten minutes to deal with last episode’s fiery madness in order to leave the rest of the episode to tie up season-long arcs, before ending on a big twist. This season feels like it just began last week, and yet Roswell managed to cover so much ground in a short space of 13 episodes.
Alex Manes had a great story this season that worked best when played with a light hand. He and Michael literally destroying the place where Jesse Manes brought violence and shame into their world was the emotionally resonant metaphorical death we needed to accompany Jesse Manes’s less cathartic literal one. It’s going to be strange for the show to be less one Jesse Manes (and it sort of feels like we...

Things took an unexpected turn on Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 Episode 6 and viewers were left more confused than ever.
All alien-related issues were put on the back burner, and the relationships took center stage.
However, that's not too different from how Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 has been going, so far.
Love triangles are hard for both the characters and the viewers.
Even if you don't care about the romance, you'll usually end up with a preference.
Recently, Roswell has been making it impossible not to choose a side.
The love triangle between Michael, Alex, and Maria, plays such a big part in the series that it's hard not to have an opinion on it.
"Sex and Candy" really lived up to its name by featuring one threesome no one saw coming.

Roswell Season 2, Episode 5
This episode made perhaps the best use of Max’s absence, which, to Roswell’s credit, has lasted much longer than I expected. The episode gets its shape from an extended meditation on Michael’s role within the “family” that the trio of aliens form. No matter what Max and Isobel have insisted, Michael clearly had a very different experience than they did. He wasn’t raised in safety and love or as a triplet, and as well-intentioned as their protestations, they can’t change that. Exhibit A: Isobel giving Guerin a hard time about how he’s handling Max’s impending death.
But Michael takes a huge step forward in this episode, by rising to the occasion to rescue Max. Clearly Michael has always felt strangely indebted and hated it, as he communicates with his refrain of “I didn’t ask for that,...

Roswell Season 2 Episode 3
With this episode, Roswell adroitly revealed its intention to run a parallel flashback storyline throughout the second season.
Through a new mystery, Roswell has given its second season a framework, something to hang the rest of its more ephemeral material on, like who Michael Guerin’s dating at a given moment, so the whole show keeps shape instead of collapsing under its own weight. Our minds need structure, and no matter how much we love these characters and their stories, without an animating principle to let us know the goal of the season, what’s driving them all forward, we’d get lost. The first one is saving Max, obviously, but it’s hard to believe that will take long.
Some stories, like Isobel’s healing and Mimi’s connection to… everything, will likely burn slower. But if the main mystery of...

Roswell Season 2 Episode 2
Over and over, Roswell is a better show than it needs to be. They don’t need to squeeze in a line about the military facility being an abandoned Indian boarding school, giving Alex a reference to this country’s continuing history with genocide that at times parallels or criss-crosses the relationship between the aliens and their home world, or ours, depending on whose perspective you take. From a technical standpoint, the opening montage could have been standard fare, rather than juxtaposing Liz’s diner job slinging milkshakes with her nightly scientific exploits dealing in specimen jars as she tries to save Max.
Amber Midthunder and Jeanine Mason continue to anchor this show emotionally. In a truly good fictional argument, both sides have merit within the narrative, and we’ve got that with miles to spare here. We get why Rosa is pissed at Max – like Liz,...

Is Max Evans really dead?
That's been the question on the minds of Roswell, New Mexico fans ever since the first season came to a dramatic conclusion last year.
Weeks ahead of the sophomore debut, The CW has dropped the official trailer, and we have a lot of questions.
Despite leaving us hanging over a cliff wondering whether Max stages a surprise return from the dead, the trailer finds Liz confirming his death.
It's a bitter pill to swallow, but on a series filled with otherworldly twists and turns, the more likely scenario is that Nathan Parsons will reprise his role at some point.
Poor Liz has to explain to Rosa why she looks different. Rosa has not aged a day since being killed off 10 years ago, thanks in large part to her being brought back from the dead.
With Rosa being in the pod for the 10 years, it certainly...

“I’m going to explain everything to you,” Liz tells her newly resurrected sister in the extended trailer for Roswell, New Mexico‘s upcoming second season. And she has a lot to explain.
Honestly, where should she even begin? The CW drama’s first season ended with Max sacrificing himself to bring back Rosa, a favor Liz intends to repay. As she explains in the trailer, “Max gave me back the only thing that mattered to me. Now, it’s my turn.”

Written by Tim Doiron, Wander follows Arthur Bretnik (Eckhart), a mentally unstable private investigator, who, after being hired to probe a suspicious death in the town of Wander, becomes convinced the case is linked to the same ‘conspiracy cover up’ that caused the death of his daughter. Graham is set to play Shelley Luscomb, an attorney and close friend of Arthur. Shelley has known Arthur long before his world unraveled and acts a voice of reason in his life.

Once a Roswell resident always a Roswell resident. Brendan Fehr, the original Michael Guerin, posted a pic on Twitter of a small reunion with some Roswell castmates including Jason Behr, Nick Wechsler, and Majandra Delfino on Tuesday, writing, "Turns out we still kinda like each other." Behr played Max Evans, Wechsler played Kyle Valenti, and Delfino played Maria DeLuca in the 1999 series, which ran on both The WB and Upn for three seasons. Shiri Appleby, Katherine Heigl, and Colin Hanks all also starred, but were apparently not present for this little reunion. The CW recently debuted a new version of Roswell, based on the same book series but set 10 years after high school...

"Oh I am what I am." Is there still life in Roswell, the WB's beloved cult series that ended in 2002 (with a few stains from the thousands of Tabasco sauce bottles being sent to the network in an effort to save it from cancellation)? According to some of the series' stars, the short answer is no. Creator Jason Katims and cast members Shiri Appleby, Nick Wechsler and Brendan Fehr are set to participate in a reunion panel at the 2014 Atx TV Festival in Austin on Saturday. But before the on-stage reunion, the two stars, who played human Kyle Valenti and alien Michael Guerin respectively, chatted with E! News about why they can't see a Roswell reboot happening, even if reunions...

Bad Boys. We love them. Even when we try to deny it, we know that a part of us gets starry-eyed at the leather, the attitude and the checkered pasts. It’s long been a cultural stereotype that girls love the bad boys, but in reality gay and bi men are just as susceptible to their charms. Ever since James Dean rumbled onto the big screen, people have been hooked.
Look into those eyes and try to resist...
But what is a Bad Boy, exactly? It used to be enough to simply be from "the wrong side of the tracks." But the concept has evolved over the years and today the Bad Boy is something more complicated and full of shades of gray. And sometimes a Bad Boy is really a bad boy, although that is a relatively new development when it comes to TV Bad Boys.
