Michael Brown has been promoted to evp of worldwide marketing at MGM.
The executive will oversee global marketing across all of the studio’s divisions including theatrical, television and home entertainment and reports to chairman and CEO Gary Barber.
Brown’s in-tray includes the remakes of Carrie and RoboCop, as well as holiday season release The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, MGM’s collaboration with New Line Cinema and Warner Bros, and Hercules with Paramount.
He most recently served as evp of marketing. Executive vice-president of worldwide television marketing Barry Gurstein and vp of communications Kristin Cotich both report to Brown.
Prior to joining MGM in 2007, Brown held senior marketing roles at New Regency and Marvel Studios.
