Dick Wolf is in for another busy season at NBC. No surprise here, the Peacock network has renewed “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Svu” for the 2024-25 broadcast TV season. Among Dick Wolf scripted series, that leaves just “Law & Order: Organized Crime” on the bubble; a renewal for that show, which has experienced multiple showrunner changes in its short life, is still in discussion.
Among the shows, this will rep the 26th season of “Law & Order: SVU,” the 24th season of “Law & Order,” Season 13 for “Chicago Fire,” the 12th season for “Chicago PD” and the 10th season for “Chicago Med.” All of the renewed series are produced by Universal Studio Group’s Universal Television division, along with Wolf Entertainment, and all shows stream the following day on Peacock. NBC has renewed most — but not all — of the shows in its two biggest franchises for the 2024-25 season.
The network has ordered new seasons of all three of its Chicago dramas — Med, Fire and Pd — along with Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu. Notably missing from the list is Law & Order: Organized Crime, whose status is “still under discussion,” according to NBC. All six series come from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television.
Svu will add to its record as the longest-running primetime drama in American TV history with a 26th season in 2024-25, while Law & Order — which recently saw the departure of series fixture Sam Waterston — will air its 24th. Chicago Med will hit double digits with its 10th season, Fire will air its 13th and Pd its 12th.

Previously in La Brea seasons 1 and 2, we were introduced to the story following a giant sinkhole opening in the middle of Los Angeles that transferred people from the present era to the prehistoric age. In the midst of all this, Gavin Harris, the head of the Harris family, turned out to be a time traveler who could destroy the time travel portals and bring everything back to normalcy. Throughout the two seasons, a lot of events unfolded, and a lot of survivors lost their lives, but Gavin remained steadfast in his mission to find a solution to this catastrophe.
In the end of La Brea season 2, we saw Gavin’s wife Eve get separated from the rest of the survivors and transported to a different timeline. Scott, one of the survivors, met a little kid named Petra, whose mother used to be an important figure working for a military base in LA.

A pair of former production assistants-turned-assistant directors have created a nonprofit in hopes of providing financial aid to PAs who’ve been put out of work due to the strike.
Katie Hacker and Andrea Block argue that most PAs don’t qualify for most of the strike relief that’s available out there — not to mention how they are already the lowest paid crew members on TV and film projects. Once work resumes, the women argue, Pa paychecks will be much smaller than those of the rest of the crew — making it harder for them to recover from the strike.
That’s why Hacker and Block formed the Go for PAs Alliance in July.
“Our entire industry is in this together, and we feel strongly that the little guys should not be ignored in this conversation,” the women, both of whom went through the DGA training program, said in a statement.

Being at the bottom of the Hollywood ladder, production assistants are often overlooked and particularly vulnerable — especially in hard times like the current Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Several cast and production members at Chicago P.D. are stepping in to help the 13 set and office PAs on the popular NBC series, pitching in to give each of them $1,500. The money was distributed a week and a half ago, with a second payment on the way.
The campaign was organized by Chicago P.D. Tuesdays are not the same without La Brea.
Although the series was initially billed as a sci-fi sinkhole drama, the series excelled as a family drama at its core. With so many facets, La Brea appeals to many audiences.
Fortunately, we don’t have to worry about it ending just yet. NBC renewed the series in January 2023, and La Brea Season 3 is coming. However, with the writers’ strike, the series’ future beyond the filmed episodes is uncertain.
How Did La Brea Season 2 End?
La Brea Season 2 Episode 14 left us with even more questions. It was one of the few episodes that explored the consequences of time-traveling since the series hadn’t explored that much since Josh and Riley returned from 1988.
While Eve and Izzy returned in time to rescue to save Gavin and share a brief family reunion, the war wasn’t over. This time, Eve disappeared through a malfunctioning portal,...

Some shows do cliffhangers; La Brea does cliff jumpers! In the NBC series’ November-airing winter finale, the reunited Eve and Gavin Harris (Natalie Zea and Eoin Macken) leaped into a sinkhole from 1988 back to 10,000 B.C. with their kids (Jack Martin and Zyra Gorecki). In January 31’s two-part return, “they land and are off to the races,” says exec producer and showrunner David Appelbaum, trying to shut down the time portal (long story). (Credit: Sarah Enticknap/NBC) “We only shot that scene 17 times,” the always hilarious Zea jokes to TV Insider. “It’s funny, people are like, ‘What happens?’ and I’m like, ‘Well, what have you seen?’ Because we shot so many different versions of that.” They have also filmed another major moment, which plays out in this week’s back-to-back episodes. Appelbaum reveals that the survivors at the clearing have their own prehistoric predicament: “[They’re] in the middle of a migration path.

When NBC’s La Brea season two finally returns from its long winter break it will be with an episode that finds Josh missing. While the rest of the group, except for Levi who remained behind, jumped into a sinkhole, Josh apparently either didn’t make the leap or was taken by someone as soon as he landed.
Season two episode eight, “Stampede,” will air at 9pm on January 31, 2023 followed by episode nine, “Murder in the Clearing,” at 10pm Et/Pt.

In La Brea Season 2, Gavin, their daughter Izzy, and Ella have landed in prehistoric Seattle in search of their loved ones. It's their turn to deal with prehistoric creatures and the elements.
TV Fanatic chatted with Macken about his role as Gavin, upcoming Season 2 teasers, and the other films he's working on.
Hi Eoin. Your role as Gavin Harris seems different from some of your other roles. What appealed to you about playing Gavin on La Brea?
This is the first time I've played a part where I've portrayed a father, so that was different for me. And I thought being a character that's estranged from his wife and children because of the situation that he was in, having visions, and being an alcoholic was a fascinating starting point.

“Where the hell are we??” asks La Brea‘s Josh in the first teaser for the new season of NBC’s hit freshman drama. And while the video above sheds little light on that mystery — he and Riley landed on some grass! in a field! — a new synopsis for Season 2 reveals that Eve (played by Natalie Zea) will be “reeling from her son, Josh, having mistakenly gone through a portal to” — Spoiler Ahead! — the year “1988.”
We also see Levi (Nicholas Gonzalez) and Sam (Jon Seda) standing at a makeshift grave for, we shall presume, Veronica, who was last seen snared by a bear trap.

Plot twists are at the core of every modern drama, but they can't all be a great Shyamalan twist.
2021 held our attention with many plot twists, but some were better than others (and some were worse).

Can you think of any others that should've made our list?
Check out our list below and let us know!
Best - This is Us - Kate and Philip?
That Kate and Toby end up divorcing some time in the near future on This Is Us wasn't the biggest shock.
Although the couple is currently in sync, they've hit several rough patches over the years. But the moment that made our jaws collectively drop from that season 5 finale flash-forward was realizing that Kate will marry Philip!

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for La Brea Episode 8 “Origins.”] La Brea drops some pretty big answers in its eighth episode, revealing the “Origins” of Gavin Harris (Eoin Macken) and explaining just why he’s having visions of 10,000 B.C., where his estranged wife Eve (Natalie Zea) and their son Josh (Jack Martin), along with everyone else who fell through the sinkhole, are. Going into the episode, we knew that Gavin had used his visions to confirm that everyone — including his friend Levi (Nicholas Gonzalez), with whom Eve had an affair — is still alive. During his search to find a way to save his family, we learned a bit more about Gavin’s past. He and a young girl, Ella, were found on the side of the road. Ella has some sort of connection to 10,000 B.C., with a sculpture of a hand matching the symbol seen back then. Rebecca Aldridge (Ming-Zhu Hii) told Gavin to...

Someone new entered their world, and a murder occurred on La Brea Season 1 Episode 4.
Those two events shook up the La Brea residents as we learned even more secrets.
The survivors had almost given up hope when they saw a plane crash through the light.
It was obvious there was still something there by the smoldering look Eve and Levi shared before she hugged him.
Josh got more of a point of view finally too.
He also seemed close to Uncle Levi, but he was knowledgeable about how the parts worked on the plane from working on planes with Gavin.
It was something the two of them did together.

Wow. The prehistoric mystery unfolded, and Le Brea is taking us on a wild ride this season.
On La Brea Season 1 Episode 2, it was confirmed that the survivors were living near Los Angeles during 10,000 BC.
Both Scott in the primeval world and Gavin and Homeland Security figured it out. So many questions. Why did they go so far back in time?
Let's begin with discussing the primeval world. It truly feels like Jurassic Park with the saber tooth tigers, those blackbirds, and now camels.
That was a saber tooth tiger, right? Those things are extinct.

It appeared that not only was this place overloaded with saber-tooth tigers but hunting traps. That means someone else was living there, and no one knew if they were friends or foes. That just made dealing with the wilderness even more dangerous.
