“The Good Place” has never been a monster hit on NBC. But the Ted Danson/Kristen Bell comedy is a favorite with critics, and continues to attract a growing fan base — thanks in part to audiences discovering repeats of the show on Netflix.
Insiders at Netflix and NBC hint that “The Good Place” has become a smash for the streamer; about as many people may have watched it on the site as on NBC. That means, at this point, just as many viewers could consider “The Good Place” a Netflix show as they do an NBC show.
On the one hand, NBC’s in-house Universal TV studio receives a handsome license fee from Netflix for the show’s second window. But NBC sure would like to make sure viewers know “The Good Place” is, first and foremost, an NBC show, and that new Season 3 episodes are available on the broadcast network right now.

The Warner Archive has released the 1965 comedy "The Rounders" on Blu-ray. The film is primarily notable for the teaming of Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda, two estimable Hollywood stars who could be relied upon to play convincingly in both dark, somber dramas and frolicking comedies. "The Rounders" was directed and written by Burt Kennedy, who adapted a novel from by Max Evans. Kennedy was a veteran of big studio productions who worked his way from screenwriter to director. If he never made any indisputable classics, it can be said that he made a good many films that were top-notch entertainment. Among them: "Support Your Local Sheriff", "The War Wagon", "Hannie Caulder" and "The Train Robbers". While Westerns were Kennedy's specialty, he did have a prestigious achievement with his screenplay for Clint Eastwood's woefully underseen and under-praised 1990 film "White Hunter, Black Heart". W.C. Fields once said, "Never work with children or animals." Well, one of the world's most famous canines is returning to television and it looks like producers will get to avoid working with both real-life kids and dogs.
The character of Lassie the collie first appeared in a 1938 short story, written by Eric Knight. It was later expanded into a novel called Lassie Come-Home. An MGM film based on the book, starring Roddy McDowall and Elizabeth Taylor, hit theaters in 1943. That spawned additional Lassie stories in print, on radio and in movie theaters.
In 1954, the Lassie TV show debuted on CBS. Aside from the famous canine, the family show features the talents of Tommy Rettig, Jan Clayton, George Cleveland, Jon Provost, June Lockhart, Hugh Reilly, Robert Bray, Jack De Mave, Jed Allan, Ron Hayes, Larry Wilcox, Pamelyn Ferdin, Cloris Leachman, and Jon Shepodd. Lassie had a number of human friends...
