- The director, writer and producer Heinz Karl Heiland finished school and afterwards he traveled half the world and earned his living with venturesome jobs. Among others he was a cowboy in Mexico, a machinist on a steamboat, big game hunter and racer. Afterwards he earned his living as a writer of travel report and he came back to his former experiences.
- Heinz-Karl Heiland went suicide at the age of 56 in 1932.
