In New York City’s war on crime, the worst criminal offenders were pursued by the detectives of the Major Case squad — that was, until USA Network pulled the plug on Law & Order: Criminal Intent in 2011.
But now, more than a decade later, original series star Vincent D’Onofrio is lobbying to reprise his role as Detective Robert Goren, alongside Kathryn Erbe’s Detective Alexandra Eames, in a revival of the long-running Law & Order offshoot.

We already know that Sam Waterston’s Jack McCoy and Anthony Anderson’s Kevin Bernard are set to return for NBC’s upcoming Law & Order revival. But it looks like a third familiar face will also make their way back to the Dick Wolf procedural.
“The hope and expectation is that there will be a wonderful surprise every week,” Waterston told Variety, hinting at the return of another popular character. Although he couldn’t reveal who exactly would be dropping by, he did say that they are “one of my favorite people on Earth” and that “you’ll be glad when you see her.

“Law & Order” is bringing back yet another familiar face. While NBC previously announced that Sam Waterston and Anthony Anderson will both be reprising their roles of D.A. Jack McCoy and Detective Kevin Bernard, respectively, they aren’t the only ones stepping back into the courtroom — and the list of possible guest stars is endless.
“One of the wonderful things about doing a television show in New York like this with really juicy parts for visitors is that there’s this extraordinary pool of talent of New York actors. So, the hope and expectation is that there will be a wonderful surprise every week,” Waterston tells Variety, before hinting at one of those surprises. “There is a person coming back in the first show, one of my favorite people on Earth. I’m not allowed to tell who that is, but you’ll be glad when you see her.

Despite experiencing a bit of a ratings slump in recent weeks, Gotham has absolutely been on fire since returning for the second half of its third season. Whether it be Edward Nygma fully embracing his destiny as the Riddler or Jim Gordon infiltrating the Court of Owls (oh yeah, it definitely happened last night), this series consistently finds news ways of guaranteeing I’m on the edge of my seat each and every week.
From what I’ve been able to glean from the trailer for the next episode, “Heroes Rise: Light The Wick,” the producers have no intention of letting any of us catch our breath. If indeed all this footage is culled from that particular episode and not from other upcoming installments, then we can expect to see Nathaniel Barnes return as a costumed Executioner in addition to Hugo Strange, the latter of whom hasn’t been seen...

Although my cable company provides me with hundreds of channels, there are still occasional day parts during which it is impossible to see an episode of Law & Order. Even if I broaden my parameters to include the one with the sex and the one with better writing, there are precious moments when neither Tamara Tunie nor Leslie Hendrix is being a tough-talking, no-nonsense medical examiner.
It’s not that I think it’s a great show, although I do kind of like it. I think Vincent D’Onofrio is brilliant, and not only because he did both this and this. I like the fact that someone who played a murderer in an early episode can be a criminal, or even an assistant district attorney in a later episode. I like seeing almost every working actor in New York get at least a few minutes of screen time… and a paycheck.

New York -- The sweetest space cadet you'll ever meet is Miriam, the spunky heroine of a warm-hearted new play, "7th Monarch." The intriguing drama by Jim Henry, detailing several mysteries surrounding once-promising math whiz Miriam, is currently running in a compelling, finely-acted production off-Broadway at Theatre Row.
We first see Miriam (a remarkable, touching performance by Gretchen Hall) wearing her personal space helmet, dedicating a time capsule to her missing parents on a cliff in the middle of the night. In her early thirties, she's friendly, personable and sharp-witted, although oddly childlike and disconnected, with terrible social skills.
Miriam is accused of fraud by a Social Security office criminal investigator, Raina, (Leslie Hendrix, stern, yet not unsympathetic), for signing her missing parents' government checks during the past few months. Due to circumstantial evidence, she's soon also suspected of murdering her parents, whose disappearance she bafflingly explains as, "The stars...

Community 3.17 "Basic Lupine Urology" Recap
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime; and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.
“Basic Lupine Urology” opens with exactly what you’d expect from any Law & Order episode – the “innocent bystanders” cleaning up the school when they notice…horror of horrors! It’s a squashed yam! The discovery prompts them to call the owners (the study group, of course), who call Professor Kane, who is understandably upset that he’s been woken up in the middle of the night for no reason. Jeff and Annie inform Shirley, Troy and Abed of the situation and despite Jeff’s indifference, Annie is quite sure that this is a clear case of “whodunit.” (There’s also that notion that she could get a C on the project, which...

"Community" is paying tribute to one of NBC's biggest franchises, "Law & Order." In "Basic Lupine Urology" (Thurs., April 26, 8 p.m. Et on NBC), the group's science experiment is sabotaged, prompting Troy (Donald Glover) and Abed (Danny Pudi) to go into full "Law & Order" mode.
Once the "Order" part is done and the two think they've discovered the culprit, "Law" begins with "The Wire" actor Michael K. Williams serving as judge ... reluctantly. Leslie Hendrix, a veteran of "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Svu" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" also guest stars. Hendrix played Dr. Elizabeth Rodgers in more than 250 episodes across the "Law & Order" franchise. Like any typical "Law & Order" episode, there are twists and turns as Jeff (Joel McHale) eventually realizes the plot is a lot thicker than anybody suspects.
Check out photos from the episode below.

Driving down any typical American suburban street — passing one front door after another, all lined up in perfect geometric harmony . a question crosses my mind.
