Originally trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama where he
met his future wife Marianne Richards, Barrie Hesketh began his career
in repertory theatre in Leeds and Manchester. He went on to join the
BBC as a radio Continuity Announcer. There followed several appearances
in audio dramas and a further sojourn into teaching and adjudication.
In 1963, he founded the Mull Little Theatre on the Island of Mull in
the inner Hebrides of Scotland.
