- Born in 1960 in Munich, Chris Heyne found his way to music at an early age. He started learning to play the piano and guitar at the age of 5, first steps into composing followed in various projects with bands and ensembles of diverse styles. Through his work as a sound engineer, he met many film composers, which influenced his decision to study film scoring. While working as a sound designer (for film and contemporary music), he already wrote first works as a film composer. During this period, Heyne wrote music for advertisements and numerous television and movie productions such as Joseph Vilsmaier's acclaimed films The Ship of No Return, Der Bergkristall and Die Geschichte vom Brandner Kaspar. In 2007 Chris Heyne was nominated for the German Film Award for his work for Margarethe von Trottas movie I am the other woman.
