He is a 29 years LAPD veteran. Prior to this, he was with the US Army and did two tours in Vietnam.
Is an expert marksman and taught shooting in Police Academy.
Jack is a retired Police Officer from the Los Angeles Police
Department, L.A.P.D. and was assigned to the now-infamous, Rampart
Division.
Besides the Rampart Division, he worked in LAPD's most toughest
divisions: 77th Street, Newton, Central, Wilshire, Hollenbeck,
Southeast and Southwest.
Worked in several specialized units of the LAPD: Community
Resources Against Street Hoodlums (C.R.A.S.H. - Anti-Gang Unit), Field
Enforcement Section of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Special
Investigation Section, Organized Crime & Vice Unit, Robbery Homicide
Division and Metro Division "C" Platoon (Crime Suppression Unit) and
"D" Platoon (Special Weapons And Tactics). He is also one of the most
decorated officer of the Los Angeles Police Department.
During the actual shoot for U2: Where the Streets Have No Name (1987) Jack is the real-life LAPD officer who shuts down the actual filming of the video and can be seen about 0:27 seconds in and is the heavy voice chastising the people and requiring them to stop shooting immediately before they were to declare a "Tactical Alert" to call in the Riot Squad to clear the intersection of people who were showing at 7th & Main in Downtown LA up to watch it live.
