He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Radio at 6101 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
Was considered for the role of Norman Maine in A Star Is Born (1954), but was unavailable at the time. Had he gotten the role, it would have been his second time working with Judy Garland since The Harvey Girls (1946) eight years earlier.
Buried at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles, California in the main
mausoleum. Block 303 Crypt D-1.
