The 1970s was a great period for genre films, marking the emergence of John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper and many others who are now considered masters of horror. It was also a time of dark inspiration, as the previous decade of peace and love led to one of death and madness, with newspapers constantly weaving tales of the latest serial killer to stalk the country. One such murderer, Ted Bundy, became the unexpected muse of director Jeremy Hoenack, leading to the creation of his 1978 flick The Sport Killer. Released to VHS in 1984 as The Dark Ride and now rechristened Killer’S Delight for this DVD presentation, the film captures the urgency of the period quite nicely.
