Sigrid Holmquist was born on February 21, 1899 in Borås, Västra Götalands län, Sweden. She was an actress, known for The Light That Failed (1923), The Early Bird (1925) and The Men Women Love (1926). She was married to Anthony Cirici. She died on July 9, 1970 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Known as the Swedish "Mary Pickford," in 1921 she asked Senator Knute
Nelson of Minnesota to start legislative action for a ministry of fine
arts stating that she wanted the government to "enforce the national
pursuit of the beautiful."
After being reported being broke and unemployed, she remarried and moved to Australia in 1941.
Forced to leave film acting in 1925, due to "Klieg-eyes", a disorder caused by bright arc lights used to illuminate movie sets.
Was on the cover of the movie magazine Pantomime (April 29, 1922) where she was wrongly named Siegfrid Holwquist.
