In August, it was announced that French premium pay TV channel Canal Plus has picked up the series for its 2013 slate, for audiences in France. And now our readers in the UK who have been curious about the show, thanks to all the Stateside excitement for it, will also now get their opportunity to check it out firsthand. More 4 has acquired the UK premiere broadcast rights to two major new dramas: Scandal from ABC Studios and Nashville from Lionsgate Television. The announcement was made earlier this week by Channel 4. Other new commissions announced for the channel in 2013 include Simon Hopkinson Cooks, 16 Kids and Counting and Fanny and Friends. ABC's Children's TV department is in the midst of a restructure, following the resignation of head of commissioning and development Carla de Jong.
Commissioning will now be separated into two areas: live action and animation.
Current vice president of programming and development at the UK's Hit Entertainment Chris Rose will take up the position of head of animation in May.
Rose has previously worked in acquisitions for BBC's Children and CBeebies. He has also served as exective producer on a number of animated series aimed at pre-schoolers, including Hit Entertainment's Mike the Knight, which he developed.
Commissioning and development editor Simon Hopkinson will oversee the live action children's TV department after three years commissioning drama and animation for ABC's children's channels under the direction of de Jong.
Both Rose and Hopkinson will report to ABC Children's controller Tim Brooke-Hunt.

“Fast forward 10 years and I’m living in New York City and out with friends for my birthday,” Danny tells AfterElton.com. “Guess who approaches me and asks if I remember him? Yep, there’s Wes. My reply was, ‘Of course, you’re the sexy Puerto Rican from college!’ So we started dating casually, but eventually I had to move to Atlanta for a job.
