Ann Wilson sang the national anthem for the San Francisco 49ers-Seattle Seahawks Nfc Championship game on Jan. 19. and the fan reaction on Twitter was less than kind!
Ann Wilson, lead singer of Heart, must have been having an off-day (and an off-key day) when she sang the national anthem for the San Francisco 49ers-Seattle Seahawks Nfc Championship game on Jan. 19. The rendition was mediocre, to be kind, and the fan reaction on Twitter was absolutely vitriolic! See what the fans had to say.
Ann Wilson Botches National Anthem At Nfc Championship Game
We can’t imagine how Ann, 63, must be feeling right now. Having grown up in Seattle, Ann is a proud Seahawks fan. She is also an incredibly talented singer and was the leader of the hugely successful girl group Heart for many, many years after joining in 1970. Therefore, she had all the ingredients for what should have been...

The world lost a fair share of legends in 2013, in the entertainment industry and outside of it. But with every star, like Nelson Mandela and Paul Walker, the amazing outpouring of support and love that followed their deaths proved how much they meant to the world. As we turn the page on 2013, let’s remember the stars we lost this year.

Peyton Manning knows a thing or two about setting and breaking records, and on Dec. 22 he broke another one. He threw his 51st touchdown of the year — breaking Tom Brady’s record for touchdowns thrown in a single season.
Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos not only clinched the first-round bye with their win at Reliant Stadium in Texas, but the 37-year-old quarterback also took back the record that was once his.
Peyton Manning Breaks Touchdown Record
With 4:28 left in Sunday’s game, Peyton threw a 25-yard pass to tight-end Julius Thomas, who scored, giving Manning his 51st Td of the season.
Peyton Manning sets record for most Touchdowns
While he was honored, it wasn’t the first time he’s set this record. In 2004, he threw 49 TDs when playing for the Colts, setting the record. However, three years later Tom Brady and the Patriots broke that record, with...

Seeing as how we may very well be just a few short months away from a new boom in giant monster cinema, it should come as no surprise to see more and more classic kaiju flicks like Gorgo getting the hi-def treatment.
Britain’s answer to Godzilla, Gorgo first stomped her way onto the big screen back in 1971. The final directorial effort from Eugene Lourie (The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, The Colossus of New York, and The Giant Behemoth) starred Bill Travers, William Sylvester, and Vincent Winter and featured top-notch special effects by two-time Oscar winner Tom Howard.
Though the MGM production would prove a one-off, the ear-wiggling reptilian titan managed to spawn a 23-issue comic book by Charleton Comics and remains one of the most respected giant monster movie offerings from the golden age of creature features.
A volcanic eruption in the North Atlantic brings to the surface a 65-foot prehistoric monster.

The art of the glass shot or matte painting is one which originated very much in the early ‘teens’ of the silent era. Pioneer film maker, director, cameraman and visual effects inventor Norman Dawn is generally acknowledged as the father of the painted matte composite, with other visionary film makers such as Ferdinand Pinney Earle, Walter Hall and Walter Percy Day being heralded as making vast contributions to the trick process in the early 1920’s.
Boiled down, the matte process is one whereby a limited film set may be extended to whatever, or wherever the director’s imagination dictates with the employment of a matte artist. In it’s most pure form, the artist would set up a large plate of clear glass in front of the motion picture camera upon which he would carefully paint in new scenery an ornate period ceiling, snow capped mountains, a Gothic castle or even an alien world.

The imaginative amateurs who brought you the £6 battlefield visitor centre in a phone box turn their hand to epic film-making
The north and Scotland may be cosying up out of mutual distrust of London, but that wasn't the theme of a home-made Hollywood evening to launch a visitor initiative at Kirk Newton village hall in Northumberland.
Every seat was taken for a the premiere of a locally-made film about the battle of Flodden in 1513 when an outnumbered English army inflicted a devastating defeat on Scottish invaders, killing 12 earls, three bishops and King James IV of Scotland himself.
It was a curiously formal operation, the battle, with both sides agreeing in advance that it had to take place by 9 September at the latest, because of weather and the cost of maintaining armies. When the English commander Thomas Howard, earl of Surrey, saw that the Scots had occupied higher ground, he asked...
