The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Broadway and television actress Linda Lavin for two very special concerts on the historic stage this past week. The show, wryly entitled 'My First Farewell Concert,' is Lavin's personal story told in songs she loves. She performed favorites from the Great AmericanBrazilianYiddish Songbooks, with Billy Stritch at the piano, Steve Bakunas on drums, Ron Affif on guitar, Tom Hubbard on bass, and special guest Aaron Weinstein on violin. On Sunday, November 27, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Christine Ebersole with the Aaron Weinstein Trio Weinstein on violinmandolin, Tedd Firth on piano and Tom Hubbard on bass. There were sublime arrangements of unique material by Fats Waller, Dave Frishberg, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer and Cannonball Adderly, including Can't Take You Nowhere, Moon Dreams, Tangerine, Fine and Dandy, and Shall We Dance. Directed by Diana Basmajian, with Bob Goldstone as Music Director and Tom Hubbard on Bass, Fulton will delight audiences when she adds her signature flair to such classic standards as "Fever," "Blue Moon," and "Stormy Weather," among others. Eileen Fulton, star of the beloved CBS-tv soap opera, As The World Turns, is returning for one night only to Don’t Tell Mama on Friday, December 17th at 7:00 p.m. with a holiday show titled: "I Remember… or At Least I Try." The show will be directed by Diana Basmajian. Bob Goldstone is the Music Director with Tom Hubbard on Bass.
