Days of our Lives star Thaao Penghlis confirmed he left the show after four decades as Tony Dimera.
Thaao debuted as Tony in 1981, bringing the Dimera family to Salem.
Later, he went on to play Andre Dimera in a very unexpected twist.
Although the talented actor hasn’t been a regular on Days for quite a while, Tony and Anna (Leann Hunley) have popped back into Salem for brief stints.
Sadly, that will no longer be the case, and Days of Our Lives won’t get any closure for Tony being Mia, at least for now.
The actor revealed he officially exited the hit daytime drama and explained why he’s done with soaps.

Is Days Of Our Lives about to lose another star? One of its long-running vets gave an interview recently saying they were leaving the daytime drama and the soap world. Keep reading for what we know so far about the rumored exit.
Cast Shakeups Rock Dool
Daytime mainstay Days Of Our Lives has undergone some serious changes in the last few years. After 65 years on NBC, the sudser made a permanent move to Peacock streaming in 2022.
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the daytime drama has been renewed through at least 2025. However, a backstage scandal involving co-executive producer, Albert Alarr, rocked the soap in 2023. One of its lead actresses, Arianne Zucker, filed a lawsuit earlier this year alleging sexual harassment. She’s since left the show. Click here to find out about her final air date.

Thaao Penghlis earned his second Daytime Emmy nomination this year: Best Guest Performer for “Days of Our Lives.” He didn’t win that prize, but after he walked the red carpet with his former co-star Leann Hunley he revealed that the two of them will be back on the “Days” canvas this summer. But which Penghlis role will we get?
“Thank you all from Leann and myself for your continued support,” Penghlis posted on Instagram (see it below). “We had a great time celebrating ‘Days’ and its nominees. You will see us on the screen in July. But is it Tony or Andre?”

Prague brought surprises as Anna, Carrie, and Austin all showed up during the hunt for Stefano, while back in Salem, Chloe woke up just as Deimos and Nicole got engaged.

Last night’s flashback-tastic New Girl episode, “Virgins,” was a treasure trove of music to set the mood — some songs more successfully than others — as the loftmates looked back on their first sexual encounters. Anchoring the eclectic mix (which ranged from Sublime to Boyz II Men and even figured in Lisa Loeb), Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen” kicked in during a fan-fulfilling scene between Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel).
It got us thinking of some of our favorite first-time anthems from shows of yore. Below, our ultimate Spotify playlist of coupling tracks!

For Leroy Jethro Gibbs, "Mother's Day" came early last night, although it was really former mothers-in-law day. Gena Rowlands guest starred as the mother of his deceased wife.
As a witness in a murder investigation, her relations with Gibbs were frosty but genuine, adversarial yet forthright. Our episode recap has the plot details. Now, Tvf's review ...
The murder of a Navy Captain, James Norton, reveals that Joann Fielding, mother of Gibbs' late wife Shannon, was his fiancée. She hadn't seen Gibbs since Shannon's funeral.
Shannon and their daughter Kelly were murdered by a Mexican drug cartel, which we later discover Norton was linked to. That's fishy enough, and Joann's story is also flimsy.
Abby and Ducky discover conclude, given the bullet trajectory and blood spatter patterns, that a random robber couldn't have killed Norton, as Joann claims. It was likely her.
Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was one step ahead of Joann...

NCIS returns tonight with an all-new episode, "Mother's Day." The actual holiday may not be for a few months, but it comes early for Leroy Jethro Gibbs this evening.
Our favorite special agent and man of few words must revisit a horrible chapter in his life when his ex-mother-in-law plays a role in the latest murder investigation.
Gibbs, of course, has three former mothers-in-law. This is the mother of his deceased ex-wife, played by Gena Rowlands and then by Leann Hunley in flashbacks.
Check out CBS' preview for the episode below:

There's more details coming out about Gena Rowlands' upcoming guest turn on 'NCIS,' thanks to a report from TV Guide soap expert Michael Logan. When Rowlands appears on 'NCIS' March 2 as Gibbs' former mother-in-law, Joann, the show will flashback to a time when Joann and Jethro were much younger.
The younger Gibbs will be played by Sean Harmon, Mark's own son, and the younger version of Joann will be portrayed by 'Days of Our Lives'' Emmy-winner Leann Hunley.
Hunley (pictured), who plays Anna Dimera on 'Days of Our Lives,' told Logan that she was thrilled to play Joann in flashback, especially because of her admiration for Rowlands. "When I first saw her back in the '70s in 'A Woman Under the Influence,' I thought, 'That woman looks like me! She has my eyes!'" Hunley told Logan.

We reported previously that three-time Emmy winner Gena Rowlands was cast to bring hell to Gibbs (Mark Harmon) on NCIS as one of his mothers-in-law. Rowlands is set to play "upscale" Joanna, who will bring not-so-pleasant memories to Gibbs' very colorful love life sometime in March.
TV Guide reports that soap star Leann Hunley will piggyback on Rowlands' role, as the Days of our Lives star was cast to play young Joanna in flashback set in the 1980s. Both will reportedly appear on NCIS' March 2 episode that will also - get this - feature Harmon's own son Sean, playing a younger version of Gibbs.

As we reported last month, Gena Rowlands will soon be raising hell on NCIS as Joann, one of three former mothers-in-law of Gibbs (Mark Harmon). That will include retro scenes in which Joann will be played by Days of Our Lives star Leann Hunley.
The soap opera actress has been hired to play Joann in flashbacks set during the 1980s. Airing March 2, the flashback scenes, which interestingly feature Harmon’s own son, Sean, as younger Gibbs, will explain the bad blood between the two.
“You will see that Joann is very angry at Gibbs for taking her daughter and grandchild away from her when his job is relocated,” Hunley says of the move that later, indirectly, led to the murder of Gibbs’ family by a Mexican drug dealer.
Leann Hunley will play a younger version of Gena Rowlands' NCIS character.

In its heyday, Dynasty was one of the most popular shows on television and spawned hundreds of products and a short-lived spin-off (The Colbys). The nation loved to see rich people have lots of outrageous problems.
Dynasty revolves primarily around the wealthy Carrington family. Blake's daughter Fallon (Pamela Sue Martin, later Emma Samms) resents her while his gay son Steven (Al Corley, later Jack Coleman) is sympathetic. The series really took off once Blake's infamous ex-wife, Alexis (Joan Collins), showed up.
Other ongoing characters are played by Gordon Thomson, John James, Michael Nader, Heather Locklear, Pamela Bellwood, Diahann Carroll, Catherine Oxenberg, Lee Bergere, Leann Hunley, Kathleen Beller, Geoffrey Scott, Christopher Cazenove, Terri Garber, Wayne Northrop, Al Corley, Ted McGinley, Michael Praed, Lloyd Bochner, Peter Mark Richman, and Paul Burke.

Leann Hunley will soon be exiting Days Of Our Lives, it has been confirmed. The actress, who returned to the soap in 2007 after a 21-year absence, broke the news to fans on her website, saying: "Hello Darlings! I worked my last day on Days today. Anyway, thank you for all your sweet wishes and support over the last year and a half. I had a wonderful time bringing Anna back to life and will miss 'her' more than (more)...
