HBO has released an incredibly cool new behind-the-scenes featurette for the final season of Game of Thrones. The video puts the focus on the impressively awesome makeup effects that are created for the certain characters in the series to life like the White Walkers. It specifically focuses on the prosthetics process.
Prosthetics Designer Barrie Gower dives into the process and explains that most people are unaware of the length of time and the process that goes into creating, building, and applying these prosthetics.
They have a workshop that consists of around 50 people that are working on this aspect of the series, and it’s explained that after they are done applying the makeup, they have to stick around on set to make sure it stays on the actors!

Designer Andy Hunt recently launched a Kickstarter for NecronomiCards, a strategy card game inspired by both mythological and Lovecraftian themes and creatures, and we have official details and a look at the game.
From Andy Hunt: “Introducing NecronomiCards, a fast-paced card game for 2-4 necromancers-in-training whose idea of a good time is to spend 30-45 minutes (or more) attacking each other with horrific monsters and ancient deities. Does that sound like you? Then you’re in the right place, new best friend!
NecronomiCards is a deviously simple game to learn. You start with two decks of cards: Spells and Summons.
Spell cards each have 4-6 different magic symbols on them. Each player starts with 2 Spell cards and then draws 1 new card every turn. You can never have more than 6 Spell cards in your hand at once though. The goal is to pair up matching symbols across your Spell cards to create hands,...

Social media users have reacted angrily or with bemusement after Eamonn Holmes conducted a cringe-worthy interview with Jeremy Corbyn.
The presenter went 'full Alan Partridge' by using tortuous football analogies ("Every young lad has a dream of playing in the cup final - was yesterday your Fa Cup Final?") and asked inane questions during the exchange. Holmes immediately came under fire from critics on Twitter who accused him of dumbing down political debate.
The new leader of the Labour party batted away with a number of questions, and was left bemused at some of the interjections made by Holmes in the uncomfortable interview.
"People will say I'm sucking up to you or being soft - but people will say your outlook is 'a bit hippy'," declared the Sky News man, who seemed embarrassed to ask tough or political questions beyond, "Why don't you just admit you hate the Tories!

Danny Boyle, the director of the London 2012 opening ceremony, has admitted it will be impossible to satisfy everyone
It must distil thousands of years of history into just over an hour, reflect a nation unto itself, promote Britain to the world, satisfy the demands of politicians and organisers, entertain 1bn viewers and bring the curtain up on the planet's biggest sporting event. So no pressure.
Film director Danny Boyle, the creative director of Friday night's £27m London 2012 opening ceremony, has already admitted that it will be an impossible task to satisfy everyone.
Instead, he has produced what has been described by overall ceremonies creative chief Stephen Daldry as a "singular vision", with music by electronic duo Underworld and other top British acts and with a denouement they are confident will stay secret despite the best efforts of the media.

After last week’s controversy surrounding his snub of David Beckham, Team Gb boss Stuart Pearce has just announced his full squad for the upcoming Olympic games, selecting only Welsh and English players and ignoring the claims of Scottish and North Irish options.
As expected, Pearce’s squad includes Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards as the three over-age players.
Swansea City are the most represented team in the squad with three players – defender Neil Taylor, excellent midfielder Joe Allen and speedy former Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair, who will be joined in the forward-line options by Daniel Sturridge, Bellamy and Bolton’s Marvin Sordell.
Pearce announced the squad with the confirmation that he didnt take any of his selection choices lightly:
It has not been an easy task to finalise my squad for this tournament, and the stature of the competition and uniqueness of the occasion has underlined the...

The British Olympic Association (Boa) has said that it is not pushing for David Beckham's inclusion in the Team Gb football team. Stuart Pearce is allowed to pick three players over the age of 23 for his 18-man squad, and Beckham's involvement in the successful London 2012 bid has fuelled speculation about his inclusion. However, Boa chief Andy Hunt has rejected suggestions that Beckham's ambassadorial role will secure him a place in the team when it is cut from its current 35-man shortlist, Pa reports. "Stuart Pearce will make a decision on the best squad available given where he is in respect of now having assessed the players that are not involved in the Euros and the current state of injuries," Hunt said. "He will then (more)...

London -- U.K. sports bodies could lose hundreds of millions of pounds in revenues from broadcast contracts after a long-awaited review of British sport recommended that top national sports including home Ashes cricket matches, the Wimbledon Tennis Championship and a range of national soccer and rugby matches should be kept on free-to-air television.
The controversial report, which has been welcomed by Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw, could cost sports' governing bodies hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues as they would have to sell their program rights to free-to-air broadcasters such as the BBC, Five and ITV, instead of the far more lucrative contracts they currently enjoy with pay TV broadcaster BSkyB.
The report was prepared for the government by former director of the Football Association David Davies, and its recommendations will form the basis of a 12-week consultation period after which the government will finalize its decision.
