Heidi Gardner has become one of the Saturday Night Live seniors after having joined the venerable NBC show in season 43.
After a slew of cast members including Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson left last summer, Gardner, along with the likes of Ego Nwodim and Bowen Yang, have stepped up to fill the gap left. And she’s enjoying being “passed the ball more”.
In fact, Gardner had the joint second most cast appearances by segment, tied with Chloe Fineman and behind veteran Kenan Thompson, according to stats compiled by the Saturday Night Network.
Gardner is known for characters such as teen film critic Bailey Gismert and Deidre, one half of a couple who describe their vacation to their friends, as well as every boxer’s girlfriend from every movie about boxing ever, Angel, who she brought back this year.
Promoted to repertory status in season 45 in 2019, Gardner has...

"Here's the plan…" We're all going to avoid this movie. Amazon's Prime Video has revealed a third trailer for the comedy Shotgun Wedding, a ridiculous, wild adventure comedy dumped by studios for a streaming release in January. Here's the unexciting pitch: A couple's extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they fell in love in the first place. Aw. Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel star, with Jennifer Coolidge, D'Arcy Carden, Melissa Hunter, Callie Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Sônia Braga, Steve Coulter, and Lenny Kravitz as her ex Sean. This trailer is all about Jennifer Coolidge, because she just won a Golden Globe award and they're hoping that attention will make people want to watch this movie, too. I hope not. The more they show from this, the worse it looks - but it's up to you to give it a look.

"It's normal to feel scared." Scared of how god awful this looks. Amazon has debuted a second official trailer for Shotgun Wedding, a ridiculous, wild comedy dumped by studios for a streaming release in January. Here's the unexciting pitch: A couple's extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they fell in love in the first place. This still seems super awkward - making light of a terrorist attack on a wedding? I don't know, not for me. Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel star, with Jennifer Coolidge, D'Arcy Carden, Melissa Hunter, Callie Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Sônia Braga, Steve Coulter, and Lenny Kravitz as her ex Sean. This looks so bad. I'm glad they are dumping it soon because I want to move on as fast as possible and forget this film even exists. ›››

This Wednesday review contains no spoilers.
The Addams Family is iconic. Created by Chas Addams, the single panel cartoons debuted in 1938 in The New Yorker magazine. Director Tim Burton is an obvious fanboy, eager to put his unique spin on the family dynamic. The Netflix series Wednesday is an original spinoff. Jenna Ortega plays Wednesday Addams without much family support, the way the character prefers it.
The series opens with the traditional dysfunctional unity. Wednesday protects Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) from bullies because only she is allowed to torture her brother. Her ghastly genius sets the tone immediately. Swimming with piranhas in a school pool is all fun and games until someone loses a testicle. Then it’s a one-way ticket to Nevermore Academy, a place which encourages artful dodgers.
For The Addams Family, a plot is merely a device to hang gags on. Wednesday is a simple story. Girl goes to a new school,...

Jennifer Walters has a complicated life as a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.
We are finally getting to the point where the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is so grandiose that the folks over at Disney can practically make a series or movie about any character from Marvel’s overwhelmingly large roster and it would be successful, at least in terms of viewership.
She-Hulk is a character that isn’t too famous, and yet here we are, in the year 2022, and she has her own show now. This was a show I wasn’t really looking forward to, however, despite being a fan of this franchise.

"Not once did I wonder if I'd be walking handcuffed through the jungle with a live grenade." Amazon has finally revealed an official trailer for Shotgun Wedding, a raucous comedy dumped by the studios for a streaming release instead of going to theaters this fall. It'll be out to watch on Prime Video in late January, which is prime time dumping season - not a good sign. What's it about? A couple's extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they fell in love in the first place. This is also a bit awkward - making light of a terrorist attack on a wedding? Huh, okay… Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel star, with Jennifer Coolidge, D'Arcy Carden, Melissa Hunter, Callie Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Sônia Braga, Steve Coulter, and Lenny Kravitz as her ex Sean. Last year, Anna Akana wowed her fans with a series of shorts that ranged from psychological drama to horror to comedy. 2015 has brought more of Akana’s scintillating films, and her latest work is her biggest undertaking thus far. She has released “Loose Ends,” a 23-minute video shot in a Blair Witch-esque found footage style.
“Loose Ends” follows a filmmaker named Alex (Akana) who is documenting the post-college life of her friend Maddie (Amy Holt). The film covers a broad range of topics, with mental illness and the coming-of-age hurdles faced by Millennials serving as the two most common themes. As it goes on, “Loose Ends” gets progressively darker, leading up to a grim conclusion.
As with Akana’s other short films, “Loose Ends” is brimming with talent. Dylan Meyer, the daughter of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan director Nichloas Meyer, wrote the script. In front of the camera,...

NBC has shown a modest amount of interest in digital video production, and once its new competition concludes, The Peacock will get to work on its first original web series. NBC has shared five pilots on YouTube, and the one that receives the most votes from viewers will receive a full digital series order.
The five pilots are all part of NBC Playground, a talent search that recently awarded TV pilots to its two winners. The shows vying for the digital series spot are all finalists in the Playground program, having outlasted a pool of more than 2,100 applicants.
So what are the competing pilots like? For the most part, they all adopt the standard web series starting point of “young people trying to make it in the big city.” The most unique plot synopsis within the group belongs to Wolfgirl, which stars Melissa Hunter (the creator of the web series...

Back in 2013, we pointed some of you to an awesome web series on YouTube called Adult Wednesday Addams. The first season consisted of 6 episodes that were released weekly. After concluding Season 1, comedian Melissa Hunter, who plays Adult Wednesday, must have got lost in the Bermuda Triangle (she didn’t, she was trying to raise funds) as Adult Wednesday fans waited for new episodes. Last month, subscribers received a gift of Episode 1 of Season 2!
We’ve embedded the first episode of Season 2 but would recommend going to the first episode of Season 1 if this is your first introduction. Trust us, you’ll want to keep watching.
New episodes of Season 2 will arrive every….Wednesday. Get it?

I’m sure most of you are fans of the gleefully morbid sense of humor of The Addams Family. Taking a cue from the beloved franchise, actress & writer Melissa Hunter has crafted a wonderful web series that answers the question “what if Wednesday grew up and was on her own in Los Angeles?”
There is good news and bad news about Adult Wednesday Addams. The good news is that the web series is wonderfully written and acted. The bad news? There are only 6 episodes to what Hunter is calling the first season. Melissa Hunter stars as Adult Wednesday Addams as she adjusts in the Los Angeles culture. We see her interview for a roomie spot, she tries her hand at dog walking and even experiences a one night stand.
I seriously have a crush on this girl now. She has won my heart and I’m sure she will win yours as well.
