It was recently confirmed that Venom: The Last Dance will be the final movie in Sony's hit franchise. That could be because Tom Hardy is ready to move on or a result of Marvel Studios having its own plans for the Symbiote.
Either way, after the runaway success of 2018's Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage's respectable performance in the post-pandemic 2021, Sony is no doubt hoping this trilogy ends on a high (and profitable) note.
While the movie remains shrouded in secrecy, a newly surfaced plot leak for Venom: The Last Dance has been gaining traction on social media this evening.
In that, it's said Venom sets out to kill a 10-year-old Peter Parker in an effort to avoid suffering the same fate as many of his Multiversal Variants: death at the hands of Spider-Man (which would tie into the post-credits scenes of both the Venom sequel...

Marvel’s animated series for Disney+, X-Men ’97 has provided an acute picture of Rogue, an X-Men character long been ignored in the cinematic representation. Particularly, in the 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies where Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique got more preference over Anna Paquin’s Rogue.

It’s not that Rogue was completely out of the picture, X-Men makers definitely had the character in mind but the omission of her character was a pain for fans. Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past has celebrated 10 year anniversary and Rogue could have been one important character in the movie but there was a reason why the director decided to leave her out of the theatrical version of the movie.

Writer Ian Shorr has signed with WME for representation in all areas.
Shorr is currently adapting the Korean film Time to Hunt for Netflix, with 42 producing. The original Korean language movie has three outlaws plotting a money heist to leave their dystopian world behind for a faraway paradise, only to draw the attention of a vicious killer.
Shorr penned the 2021 film Infinite, a sci-fi thriller that was directed by Antoine Fuqua, with Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor starring in the drama about a confused man discovering his schizophrenic visions are actually memories from past lives just in time to save humanity.
He also sold his sci-fi thriller spec script for Capsule to 20th Century Fox, with Hutch Parker (The Wolverine) producing. Capsule followed a young man whose life is upturned when he begins to receive metallic capsules containing messages from his future self.

Shooting has wrapped on Venom: The Last Dance and with a little over five months before it arrives in theaters, we're hoping an official first look is somewhere on the horizon.
Sony Pictures could do with a win after delivering flops like Morbius and Madame Web, but only time will tell whether the Venom threequel can give them one. After all, most fans aren't expecting much from Kraven the Hunter, a movie recently pushed back to December 13.
Now, a first look at the stunt team's crew gift has been revealed and it may reveal Venom: The Last Dance's big bad.
As you can see in the X post below, green is being used for the "3" in the movie's logo, while three green slashes can also be seen across the Symbiote's unmistakable face.
Looking at the comics, we have to believe this is meant as a reference to Lasher.

Venom: The Last Dance's Official Logo Has Been Revealed As Merchandise Starts Finding Its Way Online
We've already seen a fake logo for Venom: The Last Dance, and plenty of fan-made efforts have continued to do the rounds ever since. Now, though, generic merchandise has surfaced on Amazon which finally reveals the real deal.
It's not overly exciting if we're being honest, but a logo is a logo and we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the coming months. Like the title itself, it doesn't give much away and we wouldn't necessarily assume the red is any sort of giveaway about who Venom is facing.
The fact this logo has surfaced now could be an indication that a trailer is somewhere on the horizon and we'd put money on it being ready to go with Bad Boys: Ride or Die in June.
Merchandise for the Venom franchise has typically been pretty rare outside of Funko Pops and the odd Hot Toys figure, so we...

The superhero genre has traditionally been family-oriented. Often light-hearted and ending with a moral message, PG-13 is what most of these films aim for. However, every now and then there comes an R-rated superhero flick that completely blows off adult minds, forcing them to be hyped like kids again. And the Deadpool series did just that.
A still from Logan
However, Deadpool wasn’t the first R-rated superhero movie, and it certainly won’t be the last. Most of the time, R-rated movies earn much less than their PG counterparts, and just like Deadpool, that rule is occasionally broken. As in the case of Logan, which successfully clawed through its family-friendly genre to present a bloody masterpiece.

While Superhero-fatigue was not at its peak, several movies from both superhero brands— Marvel and DC Studios, enjoyed the heydays at the box office. Amid that, stand-alone female-led movies have also seen astonishing success.
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, in particular, was the perfect example of the rise of female-led superhero flicks as the 2017 movie went on to be a critical darling with a stunning box-office performance. Fox’s X-Men movie series based on the Marvel characters also enjoyed a mild buzz for a female-led movie with Dafne Keen but it did not see the light of day as of yet.

Directed by James Mangold and starring Dafne Keen alongside Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart, Logan is widely regarded as one of the greatest superhero films ever made. The film’s excellence is attributed to both its talented cast and its director. However, credit for one of its most surprising moments undoubtedly belongs to the 19-year-old Spanish-British actress, who portrayed Logan’s daughter, Laura, also known as X-23 in the film.
Logan (2017)
Keen, who secured the role over Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, delivered an improvisation during her audition. And the filmmaker was so impressed by her improvisation that it was ultimately included in the final cut of the film.

The highly anticipated third installment in the Venom superhero franchise will no longer be hitting the big screen next summer.
The untitled Sony and Marvel film was initially set to be released in theaters July 12, 2024, but has been pushed back to Nov. 8, 2024, Sony announced Wednesday night.
The shift came just hours after SAG-AFTRA and studios and streamers reached a tentative deal over a new three-year contract following the 118-day actors strike.
Production had begun on the Venom sequel in late June in Spain, but it was among films that were halted the following month due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which started July 14. Pushing the release date to November and giving the film more time to finish shooting and complete postproduction work provides a certain amount of cushion. Also, Sony has secured a berth in Imax and premium-format screens.

November 8, 2024 belongs to Venom 3. Sony always had the date on hold for a Marvel movie. It was for this film. The movie previously had a July 14, 2024 date set. That wasn’t in the cards as this actors strike hit 118 days with studios and SAG-AFTRA reaching a new three-year deal tonight.
Venom 3 is one of handful of big Hollywood films looking to resume shooting as soon as possible before the end of the year.
Tom Hardy returns as the lethal protector Venom. The film is directed by Kelly Marcel who also wrote the screenplay with the story by Marcel and Hardy. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker are producing.

The "X-Men" movie "Dark Phoenix" was hurt by upheaval at its studio, 20th Century Fox. The film was developed during the merger between Fox and Disney; in fact, "Dark Phoenix" was released on June 7, 2019, early into the new management's tenure. During that theatrical run, it made only $254 million on a $200 million budget, ultimately losing $133 million in the worst bomb of 2019.
It's tempting to think Disney undermined "Dark Phoenix." The movie was released as a lame duck, the last product assembled before all Marvel properties were back under Disney's umbrella. Marvel Studios would've doubtlessly preferred not to inherit a completed "X-Men" film, so that they could get to work on their own versions of the characters (even if the Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought back some faces from Fox's "X-Men" movies since).
However, The Hollywood Reporter indicates there was another player who helped doom "Dark Phoenix" — James Cameron.

A third film in the Marvel Comics-inspired Venom franchise started filming back in June, and Sony Pictures is aiming to get Venom 3 into theatres sometime in October of 2024. Which may or may not be possible, depending on how long the Screen Actors Guild strike lasts. While we wait to see how that’s going to work out, it looks like trustworthy scooper Daniel Richtman has revealed the identity of the villainous character that’s being played by Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) – and no, it’s not his Doctor Strange character Baron Mordo, since the Venom films are set in a different universe than the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
If you don’t want to know who Ejiofor is playing in Venom 3, beware Spoilers below.
According to Richtman (as reported by ComicBookMovie), Ejiofor is playing Orwell Taylor, the leader of the group known as The Jury.

A third film in the Marvel Comics-inspired Venom franchise is heading into production – and Variety has heard that Sony Pictures is aiming to get Venom 3 into theatres sometime in October of 2024. The Fridays in that month fall on the 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th… but regardless of which one Sony picks, we’ll be getting a new adventure of the brain-eating alien symbiote antihero just in time for Halloween.
Tom Hardy is reprising the role of Eddie Brock / Venom for the sequel, and is being joined in the cast by Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Since the Venom films are set in a different universe than the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, we shouldn’t expect to see Ejiofor play his Doctor Strange character Baron Mordo in Venom 3.

Tom Hardy will be back as Venom in Sony’s upcoming Venom 3, but when can you expect to see Eddie Brock and his symbiotic Bff back up on the big screen?
According to a new report from Variety, Venom 3 is shooting for an October 2024 release!
This checks out, as both Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) were unleashed into theaters in October. That seems to be the sweet spot for this franchise.
Shooting on Venom 3 is expected to begin very soon, but we don’t yet know at this time how the ongoing WGA strike will impact those plans. Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange) and Juno Temple (“Ted Lasso”) will star.
Venom and Venom 2 writer Kelly Marcel will be directing the third movie.

Ted Lasso star Juno Temple is ready to make her debut Marvel.
The actress, who has earned two Emmy nominations for her work on the hit Apple comedy, is in negotiations to join Tom Hardy in Venom 3, the next installment in Sony’s Spider-Man-related universe of characters.
Kelly Marcel, who worked as a scribe on the previous installments, will be making her directorial debut with the feature. She is also writing the script from a story by herself and Hardy.
The duo will produce, along with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.
Details are being kept under wraps but one source said Temple may be playing an existing Marvel character.
Michelle Williams played the romantic lead in the first two Venom movies.
Temple has prior comic book movie experience, having been part of the casts of 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises and 2014’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Although I am a Marvel Comics fan who grew up reading and enjoying comic book issues that featured the very cool, symbiote-coated character known as Venom, I can’t say I have enjoyed either of the two Venom movies Tom Hardy has starred in – the 2018 release Venom and its 2021 sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage. But these movies have made a whole lot of money, so Venom 3 is in the works – and Hardy has taken to Instagram to confirm that Venom 3 is now in pre-production. Here’s hoping the third time is the charm and this time we’ll get a movie I’ll actually like.
Hardy mentioned that Venom 3 is in pre-production while sharing a behind-the-scenes clip from a previous Venom movie, and you can check that out at This Link.
The first Venom was scripted by Jeff Pinker, Scott Rosenberg, and Kelly Marcel. Ruben Fleischer directed that film,...

Rami Malek is circling his next lead role in the thriller "Amateur" from 20th Century Studios. Deadline reports that James Hawes — who directed all six episodes of the first season of "Slow Horses," the Gary Oldman-led Apple TV+ series — has also boarded the project. Right now, it's still in the development stages, with Malek in line to executive produce alongside Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson.
The plot of "Amateur" reportedly "follows a CIA cryptographer who, after his wife is tragically killed in a London terrorist attack, demands his bosses go after them." The CIA isn't having any of that, and "when it becomes clear they won't act due to conflicting internal priorities," the cryptographer takes matters into his own hands and "blackmails the agency into training him."

Following the success of the hit Apple series Slow Horses, director James Hawes has found his next major studio project, boarding the 20th Century thriller Amateur starring Oscar winner Rami Malek. Gary Spinelli penned the most recent draft. Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson are producing, with Malek also producing.

Film fans love to speculate on what canceled movie productions would have become. What would it have been like to see Steven Spielberg's science fiction epic "Robopocalypse," Quentin Tarantino's Vega Brothers movie, Stanley Kubrick's ambitious "Napoleon" biopic, or Alejandro Jodorowsky's "Dune" adaptation? Would they be everything fans imagined them to be? Or crushing disappointments? While it's fun to speculate, we can't put our faith into something that doesn't exist. Likely, these films wouldn't have lived up to fans' massive expectations.

The “Venom” team is getting the band back together.
After writing the first two films in the “Venom” franchise, Kelly Marcel will add director to her resume for the third superhero outing. Deadline reported on Friday that Marcel, a longtime screenwriter who also wrote the scripts for “Saving Mr. Banks” and “Fifty Shades of Grey,” will make her directorial debut with “Venom 3.”
“Venom” has been a lucrative franchise for Sony and star Tom Hardy. The first film grossed a surprising 856 million worldwide and was directed by Ruben Fleischer. The follow-up film switched directors, with Andy Serkis stepping behind the camera for the symbiote sequel, but was another hit. “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” grossed over 500 million worldwide after it came out in October of last year – a strong number for a pandemic release.
Marcel and Hardy work well together, she explained last year in an interview with Vulture to support the “Venom” sequel.
