- Ardeshir Irani was an exhibitor of foreign movies who eventually turned film producer. He set up Star Films Limited, along with Bhogilal K. M. Dave, and the studio's maiden film was the mythological Veer Abhimanyu in 1922. Irani later launched two more companies, Majestic Films and Royal Art Studio. In 1926 he began Imperial Film Company.
