This April 19 marks the 30th anniversary of the violent end of the siege of the religious sect, the Branch Davidians lead by David Koresh. Eighty people died in the fire set in their compound outside of Waco by members of the cult after law enforcement had attempted to flush them out by introducing tear gas. The standoff had begun 51 days earlier when Koresh and members of this sect ambushed Atf agents who had arrived at the complex to executed federal warrants on charges of illegal manufacture and possession of machine guns and destructive devices. Four Atf agents were killed along with six members of the sect.

The project is not to be confused with the upcoming Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde film in development as part of the shared Universal Monsters franchise, which takes a cue from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (of which Evans’ Cap is a central component) in creating a series of overlapping films about its best-known figures: Dracula, the Mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster and yes, Dr. Jekyll, to be played by Russell Crowe.

Captain America star Chris Evans is currently in talks to join Lionsgate's Jekyll, which will be based on Steven Moffat's 2007 BBC series. The series continued the events of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. If cast, Evans will take on the lead role of Tom Jackman. If you aren't familiar with the series, it was officially described as follows:
It’s 2007 and there’s a new Dr Jekyll, with an old problem: Mr Hyde. But they have a deal – a body share – and an impossible life is somehow lived. What Hyde doesn’t know, however, is that Jackman is married, and there’s a wife and two children he’ll do anything to protect from his dark side. Chris Evans plays pretty much the most morally upright superhero there is as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the Captain America: Civil War star may very well be about to take a villainous turn. The actor looks set to take on the lead role of Tom Jackman in Jekyll, an upcoming movie from Lionsgate.
The writing team of Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry (who worked with Shane Black on The Nice Guys and his upcoming Doc Savage adaptation) penned the screenplay, and Jekyll is actually based on the 2007 BBC One series which was the creation of Steven Moffat (Doctor Who).
Set in the present day, it revolved around Jackman – played on TV by The Hobbit star James Nesbitt – a descendant of Jekyll who begins to exhibit signs of a split personality. He then abandons his family, creates a new home in a fortified basement and finds an ally in a psychiatric nurse.

Deadline is reporting that McU star and perfect-toothed goodness factory Chris Evans is in talks to unleash his still-probably-pretty-cheerful dark side on a planned film adaptation of the BBC TV miniseries Jekyll. Evans would play Tom Jackman, a modern-day descendent of Dr. Henry Jekyll, forced to share a body and a life with a super-powered evil side that’s the result of his distant ancestor’s famous experiments. (Jackman was played by James Nesbitt in the six-episode British show, created by Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat.) Evans is currently attached to Lionsgate’s film version of the series, and will presumably also play Jackman’s sexier, more dangerous Hyde persona if the movie moves forward.
Lionsgate’s Jekyll shouldn’t be confused with another adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel that’s currently in the works. Universal is reportedly prepping a Jekyll film of its own as part of...

Jokers, circus masters and demonic dolls. Which TV characters terrify you? Den Of Geek asked its writers that very question…
The subconscious is a terrible place; dark, mysterious and peopled by spectres from the past. As a bit of a laugh then, we sent our writers journeying into theirs and asked them to drag out any TV terrors they found lurking in the shadows.
Some television fears had been ensconced there since childhood, others were more recent tenants. Some were morally terrifying; human beings with icy hearts capable of atrocities, others were simply… atrocities.
Join us as we count down in order of terror from the sort-of-creepy to the downright terrifying, the 50 TV characters that, for whatever reason, give our writers chills. It’s by no means an exhaustive list, so feel free to fill in gaps by adding your own peculiar television nightmares below…
