Although it is a spinoff of Sons of Anarchy, in its freshman installment, the Mayans Mc TV show on FX didn't do nearly as well in the Nielsen ratings as the original series. It still managed to be the cable network's second-best rated series last year though, and now it is back for a second season. Can it build up its audience this time around, or will it run out of gas? Will Mayans Mc be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about the season 2 finale of Mayans M.C.
In the season two finale of Mayans M.C., fans were treated to some gasp-worthy — yet semi-satisfying — answers to questions that were presented throughout the season, but at the same time, more were introduced to make us furrow our brow and ask, “What the hell is going on now?” Even so, this is the kind of world that co-creator Kurt Sutter established with Mayans M.C.‘s parent show Sons of Anarchy so it is expected that there would be a lot of poetic parallels between the two — specifically with the protagonists Ez Reyes and Jax Teller.
Written by Sutter and directed by Elgin James, the season two finale is titled “Hunahpu” which is one of two Maya Hero Twins in mythology. The other twin, “Xbalanqu” is the title of the first episode of the season,...

FX is moving forward with a third season of Mayans Mc, having recently cut loose co-creator/showrunner Kurt Sutter.
Mayans Mc Season 3 is officially a go at FX, set to arrive in fall 2020!
FX’s third season renewal of Mayans Mc – a spinoff of 2008-2014’s Sons of Anarchy – arrives in the aftermath of the headline-making hullabaloo of behind-the-scenes tension that culminated in the firing of the maestro of the motorcycle gang mythology, Kurt Sutter, from his position as showrunner for what the now-contrite co-creator called “being an abrasive dick.” However, the show will go on, likely in the same spirit, since the network subsequently promoted Sutter’s spinoff collaborator in co-creator/executive producer Elgin James to showrunner, now set to tackle Mayans Mc Season 3.
As Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment, expresses in a statement:
“We’re happy to continue telling the story of Mayans M.

FX has renewed “Mayans Mc” for a third season.
The news comes ahead of the Season 2 finale, which is set to air on Tuesday. In addition, series co-creator and executive producer Elgin James will serve as the sole showrunner for the third season, which is slated to air in fall 2020.
The news comes just under three weeks after series co-creator and co-showrunner Kurt Sutter was fired from the series. Coming off a motor full of critical acclaim and strong ratings, there was little doubt Mayans M.C. would be revving up for second season, and today FX made it official. With the Sons Of Anarchy spinoff of sorts created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James airing its fifth episode tomorrow, the now Disney-owned cabler gave the green light to more Mayans next year.
“Mayans M.C. is performing fantastically, proving to be a breakout first season,” said Nick Grad, co-presidents of Original Programming at FX Networks and FX Productions said Monday in announcing the renewal. “The series premiered as the highest rated cable series this year and continues to sustain a committed fan base, reflecting the talent and drive of creators Kurt Sutter and Elgin James. We couldn’t be more excited to take this ride to a second season.”

Dancer Chloe Arnold, who’s choreographed segments for CBS shows, spoke about CBS chairman-ceo Leslie Moonves’ ouster following numerous allegations of sexual assault.
Arnold, who works on “The Talk” and who was nominated for a Creative Arts Emmy Award for her choreography on “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” said “whatever [Moonves’] behavior is, I can say that, fortunately, it’s not impacting me.”
“I feel very, very thankful that [on] my show and on my team, there is incredible ethics. I am treated like gold and respected as such,” Arnold told Variety at the 6th annual Dynamic and Diverse Emmy Celebration on Tuesday. “I’ve had the best, most respected experiences [on two CBS shows]. So I hope that those kinds of ethics also reach the top.”
While not commenting on CBS’ decision not to publicize the details of the investigations into Moonves’ behavior, she said that to effect change, “the people who are not oppressed,...
