After World War I he continued his acting career in Frankfurt in 1919, later followed engagements at different theaters in Berlin.

He made his stage debut before World War I but his career became interrupted when he served as a soldier from 1914 to 1918.

He was able to continue his acting career during World War II and he appeared in many movies like "Quax, der Bruchpilot" (1941).
From 1935 he also took over the position of a theater director and also became a theater manager.
He did not continue his film career after the war. The movie "Die Nacht der Zwölf" (1949) was already shot in 1945 partially and only finished and released in 1949.
