Gordon Tully Kay was born September 6, 1916, in Montreal, Canada. He
grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and attended Phillips Exeter Academy
in Exeter, New Hampshire. He graduated from Williams Collee where he
was on the wrestling team and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He helped start the summer stock theater program in Williamstown in
1954, forerunner of the Williamstown Theater Festival.
As a producer, he worked for Republic Studios and Universal Studios
before starting his own independent production company.
Gordon passed away in his sleep at the Motion Picture and Television
Fund Hospital on March 8, 2005.

Gordon served as an officer in the US Coast Guard during WW2. During
the war, his first son, H.Russell Kay was born. Russell was a noted
Advertising and Design business owner and well known motorcyclist in
California until his death in 2005. A second son, Robert was born in
1947. He is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel living in California
with his wife, Judith. From them, Gordon had three grandchildren. Ryan,
Robert and Julianna as well as 6 great grandchildren.
