Riverdale Season 5 Episode 11
“What the hell just happened?”
Following a lengthy hiatus, Riverdale has finally returned with its final batch of episodes from the series’ fifth season. As you may or may not recall, when credits rolled on the previous episode Riverdale High was being destroyed by convicts freed by Mr. Lodge from his prison, Veronica had retreated to New York City, and, most excitingly, Jughead was apparently abducted by aliens.
Unfortunately, this latest installment quickly undoes these game-changing developments in the lamest television backpedal since Millennium transformed the supposedly world-ending Marburg Virus into a regional outbreak. (Oh how one yearns for an era when global pandemics were the stuff of pop culture fodder). Thusly, Riverdale High can be back up and running in three weeks, Veronica is back in Riverdale, and Jughead’s abduction was explained as a bad Maple Mushroom trip. It is...

The Riverdale High Bulldogs are a shell of their former selves.
The former football juggernauts could barely muster the energy to score one touchdown on Riverdale Season 5 Episode 9. Everything revolved around the team just getting one point during a game. (Just one!)
If teen Archie and Reggie could see the team now, they would be shocked at how far the Bulldogs have fallen.
What did Archie and Veronica expect from a football team that was rushed together?
The Bulldogs 2.0 was a group of mismatched students who volunteered for the team and possibly never played the game competitively. The extent of their training came from just their short time at Riverdale High under Archie's coaching.
Compare them to teams like The Stonewall Stallions, who have had years of training regimens and graduating players; the new Bulldogs were pretty much newbies on the field.
The team was lucky they blended enough as...

Riverdale Season 5 Episode 3
“Are we doomed to just be haunted by this town for the rest of our lives?”
So asks Jughead Jones in this most emotional episode of Riverdale, and it’s a question that is uttered almost rhetorically even though we all know the answer. There’s a valedictorian feel to this installment in every sense, one that subtextually speaks of how the series is closing the door on what is what in order to reinvent itself. And friends, it’s arguably the most grounded episode the show has ever done…and maybe the best?
I’ve mentioned previously how weird it is whenever Riverdale focuses on aspects of normal teenage life. High school has never been a huge part of the program, so graduation feels like an necessary obstacle that must be hurdled in order to get these characters into their respective futures.

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 19
“It’s the principle of it.”
Riverdale‘s most ambitious season to date comes to a close in an episode that, while not intended to be a finale (more on that below), presents a more than satisfying cliffhanger. It’s been a rough go for these kids, from dealing with the passing of Fred Andrews to struggles with Dodger at the community center to the Stonewall Prep/Jugdead saga. In the background through of all these events were two problems that were growing like a cancer for our gang: The town’s video voyeur and Mr. Honey.
This episode supposes that both of these concerns are inherently linked, if not outrightly the same, in a tone-shifting carnival of chaos skillfully directed by Mädchen Amick (in her debut behind the camera for the series).
With Yale off of the table, Jughead has refocused...

Alice stole the answers for the quiz show, Veronica and Cheryl hired Penelope as the manager of their new club, and Fangs begged Kevin to get back together on Riverdale Season 4 Episode 11.
Below, TV Fanatics Jasmine Peterson, Becca Newton, and Meaghan Frey debate Jughead's betrayal to secure a book deal, Betty reacting to the truth of her Yale rejection, and the potential beginning of the end for Andrews Construction.
Jughead used Betty's history with The Black Hood as the plot for his Baxter Brothers book. Share your thoughts on Jughead choosing to betray Betty with this decision.
Jasmine: It was low. I wouldn't have thought it was so bad if he wasn't her father and that Jughead told her he was doing it because they both solved the mystery together.
However, it's way too close to home, comes across exploitative, and feels like a huge betrayal. I was so disappointed in him!

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 11
"You threw a live grenade into my relationship to win a trivia contest?"
If you are a regular reader of my Riverdale reviews, you are more than familiar with my general policy that this show exists in its own logic bubble..
But everyone has their limits. This episode was packed with so many contrivances and head-boggling decisions that I almost respect its borderline contempt for the audience.
Let's begin with the biggest storyline of the night: Betty's ongoing battle with Stonewall Prep's resident asshole Brett. At this point I've just come to accept that the institution is the sort of blue-blooded old boys network that spawns the type of men who have gotten America into the shitty position that it is today. In the press lead up to this season, it was let slip in cast interviews that Archie wouldn't stay in prison too long. That's no surprise given how much more interesting the Gryphons & Gargoyles storyline and the promise of Farm mayhem to come are. What is something of a headscratcher however is the rapid nature of how swiftly Archie was exonerated for his crimes and Sheriff Minetta was put away for his general pain in the assery/witness coercion. For a town whose hospital has old-timey ambulances and anachronistic hangouts, justice sure moves quickly in Riverdale. The dubious nature of how Archie's get out of jail free card was dealt -- and that's not...

Hey fellow Riverdale fans. We've got a new, very interesting report for you guys in regards to the upcoming third season of Riverdale. According to a recent report from the folks over at Deadline.com , we're about to see Veronica get her a new man, and it's going to happen pretty soon too! The show's producer and creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was at some event, and he told the press, "It is true that there might be a new love interest for Veronica, and you might see seeds of that in Episode 3." That's right, guys! As early as freaking episode three of the upcoming third season! So, it sounds like Veronica isn't going to be wasting anytime ditching poor Archie while he's...

There's no word yet on which characters from the parent series might be leaving the sleepy, but murderous town of Riverdale behind for pastures new, but "it will be very different from Riverdale.

Riverdale is the dark, teen crime drama loosely based on the Archie comics, and it's deliciously good.
But if we're being honest, it's loosely based on teenagers too, because have you seen the teens of Riverdale in action? I don't know about you, but at 16-years-old I wasn't seizing control of criminal biker gangs, doing sexy strip teases in front of my mother, sleeping with a teacher, or investigating serial killers and serial murders.
Seriously, why does Sheriff Keller entertain Betty and the gang's sleuthing instead of sending them to Algebra where they belong?
If you watch Riverdale online, you know that the teens dominate the series, but honestly, the adults give them a run for their money every single episode. Sometimes, they're more entertaining than their children, and that's something of note.
1. Who the Show is About
Teen shows have notoriously taken liberties while focusing on high school students.
