John Kieran

An accomplished ornithologist and naturalist, Kieran was head of the National Audubon Society for a number of years.
He worked for the New York Times, New York Herald Tribune, two Hearst papers and the New York Sun.
Before hosting the television show, Kieran was a panelist on NBC Radio's "Information, Please" during the forties.
Recipient of the J.G. Taylor Spink Award (presented to a writer for meritorious contributions to baseball writing) in 1973.
Attended Fordham University and the College of the City of New York. In college, he was on the baseball and swimming teams.
