Levi Schmitt is not okay, and neither is the Grey's Anatomy fandom.
By the end of Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 11, Levi slipped so far into a dark state that not even Webber could get him out of it. And after stating that he quit, there doesn't appear to be an upside in sight.
We caught up with TV Fanatic favorite Jake Borelli to chat about Levi's dark turn, representing the collective pandemic burnout, and what it's like when Meredith Grey sings your high praises.
Check it out!
Jumping in, I have to commend you on your extraordinary performance with this latest story arc -- Levi's breakdown. The entire fandom is in "Protect Levi At All Cost" mode.
Thank you.
What was your reaction when you read that script and learned what would happen to Levi?
My heart dropped.
I've talked before about how the fans watch the show every Thursday,...

When Krista Vernoff read the script of the “Grey’s Anatomy” pilot in 2004, she was coming off the “most difficult job” of her TV career, writing on “Wonderfalls.” In an interview for Variety’s cover story about “Grey’s Anatomy” for the magazine’s Power of Women issue, Vernoff said of the quirky Fox dramedy: “I just kept getting rewritten systematically. It was the only time in my career that happened, but it was humbling, and important for me to experience.”
But Vernoff knew she would be a perfect match for “Grey’s Anatomy.”
“I feel like I wrote this script in a fever dream,” she remembers telling her agent after she’d read Shonda Rhimes’ ABC pilot. “I get this voice. I need to meet this woman.”
Vernoff ended up becoming the show’s head writer for its first seven seasons. She returned for Season 14 as its showrunner, anointed by Rhimes and...

Debbie Allen first rose to acclaim in the 1980s when she starred in, directed and co-produced the arts high school-set series “Fame.” More than three decades later, she is still showing of her trifecta of talents on “Grey’s Anatomy.” In addition to portraying a doctor living with cancer, she also helms some of the series’ most socially relevant and emotionally complex episodes, including Season 15’s “Silent All These Years,” about sexual assault.
You started directing “Grey’s” almost a decade ago. What keeps you inspired to stay with the show, and still wear so many hats on the show, all these years later?
I was a a “Grey’s Anatomy fan” before I even started directing the show. And I think what keeps me inspired is our ability to be relevant and to be creative and that we are just expanding the footprint every week. I was in the...

On "Grey's Anatomy," the staff at Grey Sloane Memorial never have an easy go of it, be it their love lives or their professional lives. And actor Jason George says Dr. Ben Warren is about to step into some serious trouble on both fronts.
As the series heads into its final episodes of its landmark, creatively re-energized twelfth season, George says that Ben will be facing some particularly tough transitions. Not only will he be struggling with feelings about his wife Miranda Bailey's significantly more powerful and lucrative position at the hospital, he's about to hit a major speed bump on the road to becoming a surgeon.
Still, he promises, the show's ever-present dose of black comedy will also accompany the drama, and George reveals his own surreal-but-silly experience while sitting in on a serious medical procedure.

Well isn't this just the cutest thing! Ellen Pompeo stopped by Wednesday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where she opened up about her adorable kiddies, 5-year-old daughter Stella and her 6-month-old baby girl Sienna. Check out the video above to see what the "Grey's Anatomy" star has to say about her daughter's dream job and see new pics of her adorable kids. It also sounds like Pompeo's oldest daughter wasn't too thrilled about her little sis when she was first born. "Well she liked her at first. And then she said, 'Is she leaving?,'" the actress joked. "I was like 'no, no, she’s gonna live here.' And she was like 'Oh, Ok.' And she had about a month where she was not in a good mood. Bad mood every day for a month. And now that passed and now she’s fine," she explained. Ellen's daughter Stella...
