"This year he Really Is coming to town!" Studiocanal UK has revealed a new trailer for Santa Claus: The Movie, to promote their 4K re-release. "We're delighted to announce that a magical new 4k restoration of the perennial Christmas Classic, Santa Claus: The Movie, from director Jeannot Szwarc will return to cinemas this festive period" starting in late November. The film originally opened in 1985 for the holidays and became a favorite worldwide, though more commonly in the UK than the US. It's not the same as The Santa Clause with Tim Allen, or many of the other animated classics. Santa Claus: The Movie stars David Huddleston as Santa, Dudley Moore, John Lithgow, Judy Cornwell, Jeffrey Kramer, and many others. The legend of Santa Claus is put in jeopardy when an unscrupulous toy manufacturer attempts to take over Christmas. This is definitely a good one to catch up with and show...

A new episode of the Real Slashers video series has just been released, and with this one we’re looking back at one of the more popular installments in the franchise that shares its name with our favorite holiday, Halloween. The movie is 1981’s Halloween II (watch it Here), and to hear all about it, check out the video embedded above!
Directed by Rick Rosenthal from a screenplay by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, Halloween II has the following synopsis: John Carpenter’s Halloween scared the living daylights out of 25 million people and set a precedent in smashing box-office records for a horror film. And now, prepare yourself to go one step further as the nightmare continues in Halloween II. Picking up precisely where its predecessor left off, Halloween II follows the same ill-fated characters as they encounter the knife-wielding terror they left for dead in the first Halloween. But...

"When police raid a house in El Paso, they find it full of dead Latinos, and only one survivor. He’s known as The Traveler, and when they take him to the station for questioning he tells them those lands are full of magic and talks about the horrors he’s encountered in his long time on this earth, about portals to other worlds, mythical creatures, demons and the undead. Stories about Latin American legends."

2023 marks the 45th anniversary of the release of Jaws 2 (watch it Here), the most well-regarded of the Jaws sequels – and Universal is celebrating the occasion by giving the film a 4K Uhd release! The Jaws 2 4K Uhd will be available on July 4th, which seems like a fitting date since the first Jaws is a Fourth of July classic. Copies can be pre-ordered at This Link.
Directed by Jeannot Szwarc from a screenplay written by Carl Gottlieb and Howard Sackler, Jaws 2 has the following synopsis: It’s been four years since that marauding great white shark terrorized the small summer resort of Amity; but the shark that Police Chief Brody destroyed wasn’t the only one in the ocean! The same heart-stopping suspense and gripping adventure that enthralled movie audiences throughout the world in Jaws returns in this worthy sequel to that film classic.

2023 marks the 45th anniversary of the release of Jaws 2 (watch it Here), the most well-regarded of the Jaws sequels. So it seems quite appropriate that a cool Jaws 2 discovery had been made this year: The Daily Jaws has found a long-lost scene from the film, and the only known footage of this scene comes from a Brazilian VHS! This leads me to believe that the scene was probably always included in the Brazilian home video release of Jaws 2, but that’s not completely clear from the report on The Daily Jaws.
What we do know is that Jaws 2 begins with a pair of divers being attacked by a shark while checking out the sunken wreckage of the Orca boat from the first movie. Later in the film, Deputy Hendricks (Jeffrey Kramer) is shown to have retrieved the underwater camera that was dropped by the divers. In this lost footage,...

Last year, Fright Rags got their “Stop the Killer” series of board games started with a board game inspired by the 1984 killer Santa classic Silent Night, Deadly Night (watch it Here). That was followed by a board game inspired by another classic slasher, the 1981 film My Bloody Valentine (watch it Here). And now Fright Rags has announced that they’ll be staying in 1981 for their third “film to board game” Stop the Killer project, which will be based on Halloween II (watch that Here)!
Details on the Halloween II board game are being kept under wraps for now. All Fright Rags has revealed is the cover art, which can be seen at the bottom of this article. But it’s probably safe to assume that the Halloween II game will be along the same lines as the other two games in the Stop the Killer series, which were created with...

We had a video series here at JoBlo and Arrow in the Head called Where It Was Made a while back. Hosted and directed by Ryan Cultrera, the show was all about “revisiting the actual filming locations for some of the most popular films ever made and seeing how they’re holding up today, all while examining just how these locations were used in the finished film.” The premiere episode, released in 2015, gave a tour of the locations used for filming the 1978 classic Halloween. This Halloween, Where It Was Made is making its triumphant return in the most appropriate way possible: with an episode that gives a tour of the locations that were used for filming the 1981 sequel Halloween II (watch it Here)! You can watch this new episode of Where It Was Made in the embed above.

A Colorado mail carrier recently delivered something super special to a struggling dog on his route: quality of life.
Jeff Kramer from Boulder, Colorado, built Tashi the 14-year-old black Lab a ramp so he can easily get in and out of his house.
The pair met a few years ago, according to the Daily Camera, though things were a bit different then.
“As fast as he could — which was not very fast — he ran up to me tail wagging, first day I met him,” Kramer recalled. “He’s just a really friendly dog. And I am a dog person, and they can tell.

Directors Joe Dante (1984’s Gremlins) and Allan Arkush (1979’s Rock ‘n’ Roll High School) cut their teeth in Hollywood putting together trailers for Roger Corman films in the early 1970s and got the idea to make their own film by piecing together stock footage from other Corman pics and shooting a story around the clips. 11 Drive-in Movie Movies (in alphabetical order):
Blue Thunder (1983) One key sequence in this thriller about a high-tech urban surveillance helicopter is staged (during the daylight hours) at the Pickwick Drive-in in Burbank, California, which was razed in 1990. The Pickwick, due to its proximity to the local movie studios, hosted many movie premieres, most famously that of Blazing Saddles in 1974, for which everyone in attendance was on horseback.
Brokeback Mountain (2005) In one scene after his return from Brokeback Mountain, Ennis (Heath Ledger) takes his wife Alma (Michelle Williams) on a date to a drive-in movie theater, which is lovingly (if briefly) recreated in the film. And it’s a very effective moment of movie magic too—the scene wasn’t filmed at a drive-in at all, but instead a converted softball field in Alberta, Canada.
Cars (2006) During the end credits, the cars are shown at the drive-in cinema enjoying parodies...

I wonder what John Carpenter was initially thinking when he ended his career making an undeniably genre defining film, Halloween. When he was writing his screenplay (a brilliant one, at that) with Debra Hill, did he stop and think that A) He was a huge fan of nihilistic endings and what a terrifying feeling it would be for audiences to go home, no doubt the sprawling suburbs featured in his film, or B) He knew deep down that it was sequel bait and by making the film he would go on to make the single, highest grossing independent film of all time. Colorado police said a recent online escort ad, featuring a photo of Kara Nichols, was not placed by the 19-year-old aspiring model who disappeared nearly seven weeks ago.
"Our investigators became aware of that posting and followed up on that lead. They were able to determine that someone else had used the photos of Kara for their own ads. Kara was not involved in posting the ads or with those folks. Someone simply grabbed those photos online and used them for their own purposes," El Paso County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jeff Kramer told The Huffington Post.
The picture was recently discovered by police on a Las Vegas-based escort website. Other sites ran stories suggesting Nichols could be working as a prostitute.
"Is missing teen Kara Nichols a prostitute in Las Vegas?" asked Gather. While Examiner reported: "Missing Colorado teen Kara Nichols has resurfaced in Las Vegas, apparently, as a prostitute.
