Another Bachelor Nation Divorce

Season 13 Bachelorette winner Bryan Abasolo abruptly filed for divorce from Rachel Lindsay on January 1, 2024. He listed the date of separation as one day earlier. After months of controversy over racism allegations against longtime host Chris Harrison, which led to Harrison’s departure from the ABC franchise, the first Black Bachelorette has penned an op-ed in New York magazine. Rachel Lindsay called the piece “an opportunity to tell my story and share my experience with the Bachelor franchise.”
“The franchise has spent 19 years cultivating a toxic audience,” wrote Lindsay. “They have constantly given it a product it wants: a midwestern/southern white, blonde, light-eyed Christian. Not all viewers are like that. My Higher Learning [podcast] co-host and I have divided it – there is a Bachelor Nation, and there is a Bachelor Klan.”
She said that bachelor Klan subset is “hateful, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, and homophobic…They are afraid of change. They are afraid to be uncomfortable. They are afraid when they get called out.”
She writes that that racism became painfully apparent during the controversy that led to Harrison’s departure.

Although Ben Smith's dramatic return to The Bachelorette earned him a spot in Tayshia Adams's final two, he ultimately didn't get her final rose; that went, instead, to Zac Clark. Ben has become a bit of a fan favorite over the course of the season, so, of course, we're all asking: is Ben still single today?
As you can probably guess, we don't actually have a clear answer to that question yet. The show's contestants are under strict restrictions not to post anything that could possibly be a spoiler before the show airs, and sharing his relationship status prior to the finale would definitely have fallen under that category! Ben's Instagram has been pretty much a steady stream of fitness and family pics, steering clear of much mention at all of his time on The Bachelorette, and certainly nothing that could even remotely hint at his current relationship status.

Rachel Lindsay returned to The Bachelorette on Monday night to give current lead Tayshia Adams some advice as she moves toward her final rose ceremony. It's been over three years since Rachel took her own journey on the show, so how much do you remember about how her season ended?
Rachel became the bachelorette in 2017 after becoming a fan favorite during Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor earlier that year, where she finished in third place. She became the first Black bachelorette in franchise history, and, at the time, she was the oldest bachelorette to lead a season: she was 32 years old when her season filmed, only surpassed this year when 39-year-old Clare Crawley led the first half of this season before departing with Dale Moss and turning the season over to Tayshia.
Eventually, it came down to two finalists: Peter Kraus, a 31-year-old business owner, and Bryan Abasolo,...

A reunion... but minus the roses. Rachel Lindsay revealed that she recently "communicated" with Peter Kraus for the first time since their After the Final Rose appearance in 2017. "That's probably going to be a shocker to so many people," Rachel said on her and Becca Kufrin's Bachelor Happy Hour podcast on Tuesday, Sept. 15. "People are thinking of the last time we saw each other which was on stage, [but] that was three years ago." She added, "We're adults here, we can all move on." As Bachelor Nation fans will recall, Peter competed for Rachel's heart and ended up being the runner-up on her season of The...

Last week, former “The Bachelorette” star Peter Kraus revealed why he turned down “The Bachelor” (three times). Among the reasons: Producers allegedly denied his request for relationship counseling. But that can’t be accurate, according to Chris Harrison, because contestants do get it.
“Well, they do get that,” Harrison told “Entertainment Tonight.” “Everybody has access to that.”
During an interview on “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous” podcast, Kraus said he rejected the opportunity to headline Season 22 of “The Bachelor — which eventually starred Arie Luyendyk Jr. — three times after producers approached him following his runner-up stint on Rachel Lindsay‘s season of “The Bachelorette.” The personal trainer, who had just started talking to a possible new love interest and didn’t feel he could guarantee a proposal on the show, denied that money was the primary reason things didn’t work out, stating that he and producers could not...

In an alternate universe, Peter Kraus could’ve been the first Peter to star on “The Bachelor” before you-know-who. After he finished second on Rachel Lindsay‘s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2017, Bachelor Nation assumed he was a shoo-in to lead the next season of “The Bachelor.” Instead, producers went deep into the past to cast Arie Luyendyk Jr. for Season 22. And now, Kraus is revealing the reason he turned down the gig — three times.
During an interview on “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous” podcast, Kraus shared that producers pursued him multiple times over the course of several weeks. “I tried to go back to normal life and it didn’t work,” Kraus said. “They asked me to be the Bachelor and I said no. Straight up no. A couple of weeks later, they called again and made it a little more formal, and I still said no.

What could have been... Peter Kraus gave Bachelor Nation the ultimate flashback on Thursday when he appeared on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast. As fans will recall, the personal trainer from Madison, Wis. appeared on Rachel Lindsay's season of The Bachelorette. Kraus didn't want to propose, and he and Lindsay tearfully decided to break up near the end of the season. The attorney ended the season by getting engaged to Bryan Abasolo, and the happy couple tied the knot just two years later. While many fans were hoping to see Kraus hand out the roses, Arie Luyendyk Jr. got the gig instead. But that doesn't mean Kraus wasn't considered. During his...

But in a controversial twist, Arie Luyendyk Jr. took the spot and Peter's quest for love on reality TV came to an abrupt end. Now three years later, Peter has revealed what went down behind-the-scenes while negotiating his Bachelor contract. Fan-favorite Lauren Speed may have proved that love is blind, but her role in season one of the Netflix show displayed so much more. From Issa Rae on Insecure to Kate Edison on The Bold Type, we are seeing more accurate portrayals of Black women on TV than ever - and it's so important. In this case, Lauren's positive representation on Netflix's reality show emphasizes that Black women being their true and authentic selves is beautiful and desirable - despite how we may have been previously portrayed on reality TV.
Without even trying, Lauren's presence on the show acted as a mirror for our own dating experiences as Black women. We see ourselves in moments where she wakes up next to her now husband, Cameron Hamilton during their honeymoon, bare-faced and wearing a bonnet. She explains to the camera how important it is for Black women to wrap their hair up at night.

After that twist from ABC, we're not doubting that it could happen again with the upcoming season. Although the next Bachelor will likely be one of the men from Becca Kufrin's season, it's possible that we'll be reunited with a contestant from years ago. If that were to happen, we just want to make our suggestions known so we get a funny and good-looking guy to watch in the Winter. To be honest, some of our favorites are left off because they're in relationships, but there are still good ones to choose from.

Long before Bachelor Nation was warring over #TeamGarrett and #TeamBlake and wondering what beautiful gown Becca Kufrin would choose for her Maldives proposal, The Bachelorette's most dramatic finale had been claimed by a different final three: Rachel Lindsay, Peter Kraus, and Bryan Abasolo. It's been about a year since Rachel Lindsay gave her final rose to Bryan Abasolo on The Bachelorette, and although some Bachelor Nation fans are still emotionally crushed by her decision to break up with Peter Kraus, we can't help but address how incredible she looks with her fiancé. The engaged couple is still going strong, with sights set on having their wedding take place at "the end of the year," though they have "no concrete plans yet," Rachel told E! News in February 2018. Ew... Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette hasn't even started — but, there's already a rumor surrounding one of her men. According to a new reddit thread, Lincoln — who fans met during After The Final Rose — has a slightly soiled reputation. The potential suitor showed his allegiance to Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s ex when he first met her on live TV. He called the racecar driver a "wanker" before leaving a laughing Becca at a loss for words. Well, it looks like she might be at another loss for words once his past comes to light. "I don't watch The Bachelor but this is the talk of the floor this morning," the user wrote. "Lincoln used to s--t on the bathroom floor in his previous position because he thought toilets were unsanitary. He was known as the floor-s--tter and would build a mound of toilet paper and take a s--t on it.

This year's season of The Bachelor was a wild ride. Just when you thought Arie Luyendyk Jr. finally found love with Becca Kufrin, he totally flip-flopped and proposed (again) to Lauren Burnham. Earlier this week, the seemingly happy couple have fled the country to get away from the scrutiny — even though they can't stop documenting their entire journey on social media — so we decided to find out more about Lauren and if she's really as boring as she came across on camera. She has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. A post shared by Lauren Burnham (@laureneburnham) on May 15, 2013 at 6:52am Pdt Lauren referred to it as her highest athletic achievement in her Bachelor bio. She also revealed that if she could be any fictional character, she'd be Elsa from Frozen "because I've always wanted to be a Disney princess." Who hasn't?! As for her biggest date night pet peeve,...

The newest season of The Bachelorette has yet to begin, but Becca Kufrin already has her eyes set on one man — Michael Strahan! The 27-year-old publicist, who was announced as the franchise's new leading lady after The Bachelor season finale, gushed about her celebrity crush on Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I just love the gap tooth," Becca told Ellen DeGeneres. "I do! Just everything about him." In fact, she said it would be "game over" for the other suitors if the Good Morning America co-host appeared on her season. "It would be a really short season," she said. Hmm, sounds to us like she has a weird way of saying she wants last season's runner-up, Peter Kraus! A post shared by Peter J Kraus (@peterkrauswi) on Feb 13, 2018 at 5:39pm Pst Unfortunately, the personal trainer with an infamous gap tooth, who vied for Rachel Lindsay's heart in...

Bekah Martinez certainly gave it her all when applying to be on The Bachelor. The 23-year-old Calif. native took to Instagram today to share a photo that she submitted before appearing on Season 22 of the hit show, then vying to win former Bachelorette contestant Peter Kraus' heart. But as viewers of the show know, it was Arie Luyendyk Jr. who ended up being this season's Bachelor star. In the photo, Bekah can be seen painting her and Peter's names on a wall while going braless in overalls and a headband. She captioned the hilarious throwback, "These Are The Lengths My Cheesy Ass Really Went To For My Bachelor Casting Photos #Blindsided #DidntKnowWhatWasComing (this isn't me...

Bekah Martinez may have almost made it to hometowns on Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelor, but she really went on the show for a chance to date Peter Kraus. Throughout Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season of The Bachelor, there was perhaps no one more controversial than Krystal Nielson. And she wouldn’t disagree — though she’s come to terms with her role as the so-called villain.
“It got to a point where I realized that I can’t control how I’m going to look on the show, so there’s no point exhausting my energy,” the 29-year-old fitness trainer tells People. “I’ve made my peace with it.”

Ahead of Women Tell All, here’s Krystal Tells All?
The Bachelor contestant – whom many dubbed this year’s “villain” – Krystal Nielson spilled on what was really happening on Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season with reality-obsessed producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show after getting the boot during an infamous 2-on-1 date.
Turns out that like Bekah Martinez, Nielson appeared on the show hoping Peter Kraus, the fan favorite who made it to the final two on Rachel Lindsay‘s Bachelorette season, would be the guy handing out roses.
“You know, I was really pleasantly surprised,” the 30-year-old fitness coach said about Luyendyk Jr.

Even though he’s got plenty of women falling for him on the current season of The Bachelor, not everyone is the biggest fan of “kissing bandit” Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his “pillow lips.”
During an interview with People Now, Ashley Iaconetti, Eric Bigger and Dean Unglert — who will all be staring on the upcoming Olympic-themed spinoff The Bachelor Winter Games — revealed what they really thought of the franchise’s newest bachelor.
“I give him a B+,” Bigger, 29, said when asked to give Luyendyk Jr. an overall grade so far.

Peter Kraus is staying away from reality TV, at least for the time being. The fitness guru was once a controversial contender for The Bachelor season 22 following his stint on The Bachelorette season 13, where he ended up as Rachel Lindsay's runner-up. He's also expected to show up on the upcoming Bachelor Winter Games but that's not going to happen either. ...

#BachelorNation’s reaction was swift when Arie Luyendyk Jr. was announced as this season’s Bachelor over fan favorite Peter Kraus — but the former contender for Rachel Lindsay‘s heart thinks the race car driver was the perfect pick.

Happy Monday, everyone. We’re kicking off 2018 the only way we know how: with the two-hour premiere of Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season of The Bachelor.
And yes, you read that right. We haven’t traveled back in time. It is 2018, and the Bachelor is Arie. As we’ve observed, the choice to cast the 36-year-old professional auto racing driver slash realtor — who was the runner-up on Emily Maynard‘s season of The Bachelorette in 2012, and hasn’t appeared on the franchise since — was met with mixed reactions.
