New York Comic Con has once again rushed by in a giant, fun, crazy blur, and although I didn’t get to nearly all the things I was hoping to, I did have a rockin’ time and see some really cool things I can share.
The first of these were a few great panels I landed seats for, including, as is my tradition, the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles panel. If you don’t know I love the current Tmnt, then what are you, new here? But seriously, I love it. And each panel I have gone to brings something new and different.
This panel (with Andrea Romano (voice director), Eric Bauza (Tiger Claw), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Shredder), Greg Cipes (Mikey), Rob Paulsen (Donnie), and Ciro Nieli (Executive Producer)) was particularly fun, because one of the things they did was a live read of episode #420, “The Super Shredder,” which...

The New York Comic Con is upon us once again, and I can’t wait. This year, as usual, I have a massive list of things I want to see, people I want to talk to, and, of course, merchandise I want to take a gander at (not to buy it, of course. Oh no no no! Certainly not, considering I have way too many collectibles already. I’m just going to look. Really. Just…you know, a little bit. No buying here, nosiree…um). There are also a few cool parties floating around…and you know how I love a good party.
Everyone who goes to Nycc has their own unique wish list of what they want to experience while there. But in case you aren’t sure what you want to see first, here are some of the things I’m most looking forward to. Maybe they’ll appeal to you,...

One day in the early 80s, I was with my girlfriend in a shopping mall. Somehow I had been relegated to the role of sidekick while she shopped. I liked to do a lot of things with her, but shopping wasn’t high on that list. I was bored so I decided to buy a comic book to read while she shopped.
Back then I was enjoying a lot of comics and purchasing them every week at Kim’s Collectible Comics and Records. But one store in that mall had a spinner rack filled with comics, and I knew I could snag an issue that I had missed.
I evaluated the comics available on that rack and hoped that one would be my salvation from the dreariness of shopping. I reached out for Swamp Thing #21, and was surprised to find an unfamiliar writer wrote it. I decided to give it a try nonetheless.

Like mother, like daughter.
Jamie Lee Curtis paid homage to original "scream queen" Janet Lee during Tuesday's episode of Ryan Murphy's slasher comedy.
As Wallace University's scheming Dean Cathy Munsch, Curtis recreated Psycho's iconic shower scene ... in a black-and-white, of course.
But instead of (Spoiler Alert if you someone still haven't watched Alfred Hitchcock's scary 1960 classic) being stabbed by Norman Bates masquerading as his dead mom, it's the Red Devil lurking behind the dean's curtain on Scream Queens.
Curtis, 56, recently opened up to People about how, unlike her Hollywood royal parents Leigh and Tony Curtis, she doesn't revel in the limelight.

On Friday, I attended the Fresh Romance panel moderated by Janelle Asselin, a former editor at DC Comics, Disney, and Comics Alliance and the founder and current editor-in-chief of Rosy Press. Rosy Press’ only monthly title is Fresh Romance, which is a digital romance anthology comic that comes out on the last Tuesday of every month and contains three ten page stories that are usually serialized. The comics can be found on Comixology or the Rosy Press website and are just a click away.
Currently, Fresh Romance has two stories running and one that has recently wrapped off. There is “School Spirit” written by Kate Leth (Bravest Warriors) with art by Arielle Jovellanos (Jem Annual) and colors from Amanda Scurti. “School Spirit” is a high school romance about two lesbian teens pretending to date boys so people won’t find out about and also has magic and superpowers. There is...

Now that Texas Gov. Rick Perry is all in for the Republican presidential nomination race, we'll surely be seeing his name a lot more frequently in the feed. Joe Hill requested a different type of Gop debate between Perry and Mitt Romany last night, while Jonathan Hickman was stuck on rules that vampire stories need to adhere to.
It was a great weekend for artwork, though. Joshua Luna teased his next project, and Mike Norton tweeted some sketches he made at Wizard World Chicago. Their work, a truly awesome Dazzler/Psylocke piece by Janet Lee and news of an unusual birthday present made the list of tweets that brightened our Monday morning.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for August 15, 2011.
@joe_hill Debate I most want to see: Rick Perry's hair argues w/Mitt Romney's hair over which better represents the modern Gop: Vitalis or Brylcreem?...
