The BBC’s magnificently entertaining miniseries Sherlock is drawing to a close tonight, and while we’re sad to see it go, it’s a pretty safe bet that it’ll be back with a full series some time next year.
Tonight’s episode is titled The Great Game, and is written by series co-creator Mark Gatiss. We recently spoke with Gatiss, and you can read our interview below.
HeyUGuys: You collaborated with Steven [Moffat] to develop the series, How much of it was you, how much was Steven? Were there any elements that you liked, and Steven didn’t or vice versa?
Mg: Well no, I have to say. Steven is always joking that we’re actually married now, but it was a shared passion. The first thing was this ‘actually, do you know anything about the Basil Rathbone skirting around. Do you know my favourite? It’s called Spider Woman‘. ‘Oh,...

If you’ve been watching the BBC at all over the last few weeks, you’ll almost certainly have noticed the trailers for Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ 21st Century update of Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock, which premiered on BBC 1 last night.
We were recently given the chance to talk to Moffat, Gatiss and the series’ star, Benedict Cumberbatch. The Gatiss and Cumberbatch interviews go into details about the first episode, so we’re holding off on publishing them until after broadcast, but Moffat’s interview was relatively spoiler free and he was happy to talk Sherlock, Who and the future of British television.
Hey U Guys: So obviously you and Mark [Gatiss] have been developing Sherlock for quite some time. Mark said for about five years.
Steven Moffat: Yes, but slicing that into blocks of action, for a long time we were just talking on the train about it, and...

This weekend HeyUGuys attended the London McM Expo. You can check out our report here.
One of the highlights of the event for us was a chance to talk to Ronald D Moore, Executive Producer on Battlestar Galactica and Caprica, and all round creative genius. During the course of the interview, we discussed much of his career, from his early days as a freelance writer on Star Trek: The Next Generation, through to his current project Caprica.
Also in the room at the time of the interview, was actor Esai Morales, who play’s Joseph Adam on Caprica.

HeyUGuys: Would you mind very quickly just starting with your early career. You obviously started out on Star Trek. It was a spec script, wasn’t it, that you submitted, that then slowly got picked up, with you becoming a producer or co-producer on Star Trek: The Next Generation?...

Down in the Hug-bunker, we’ve been getting quite excited about forthcoming Brit-flick, Heartless. Directed by Philip Ridley, and starring Jim Sturgess, and the lovely Clémence Poésy, the film is set to be one of the first British features to benefit from near-simultaneous multi-platform release, coming out at cinemas on Friday 21st May, and being available to buy the following Monday (24th).
We recently spoke with the film’s producer, Richard Raymond, who provided some insight into just how hard it was to get the film off the ground, and just why he and Ridley decided to cast Sturgess.
Transcription by Ted Leighton.
HeyUGuys: If you could begin by talking about Heartless and how the project came about, and your involvement with it.
Richard Raymond: I’d known Philip Ridley for about ten years. What happened was, when I was about twenty two, I read a short story that...
