Shannen Doherty fought back tears as she addressed Alyssa Milano’s recent comments about not being involved in Doherty’s “Charmed” exit.
During a panel alongside “Charmed” co-stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan at MegaCon Orlando on Sunday (via EW), Doherty spoke about the claims she made on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, in which she alleged that Milano played a pivotal role in her firing from the fantasy drama series.
“Holly and I, we were not mean on the podcast,” Doherty said. “In fact, we went in and we edited out anything that we felt would cause more drama. We simply told the truth because the truth actually does matter. But we wanted to try to save you, the fans, from heartbreak as much as humanly possible.”

Alyssa Milano, who played Phoebe in the hit WB series “Charmed,” took to a panel hosted by Collider to respond to claims that she was responsible for Shannen Doherty’s exit from the fantasy drama series back in 2001.
While not denying the claims, Milano expressed that it was “sad.”
“I don’t think it’s really that I’m sad for me or for my life or how it does or does not affect my life. I’m the most sad for the fans. I’m the most sad that a show that has meant so much to so many people has been tarnished by a toxicity that is still to this day, almost a quarter of a century later, still happening,” Milano said at the panel. “And I’m sad that people can’t move past it. Alyssa Milano is speaking out against claims that she got Shannen Doherty fired from Charmed.
The actress took to social media on Saturday to share her thoughts about Doherty and Holly Marie Combs saying Milano got the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum let go from the USA series in 2001.
Her statement comes a month after Doherty stated on her podcast, Let’s Be Clear, that Milano got her fired from the show. Combs supported these claims by detailing a conversation she had at the time with Charmed producer Jonathan Levin, who told her that Milano gave the studio an ultimatum of her or Doherty, and they allegedly chose her.
Milano attended MegaCon in Orlando on Feb. 2, where she was asked about her co-stars saying that she was responsible for (spoiler alert!) Doherty’s character being killed off in the show’s season three finale.

On the latest episode of her podcast Let’s Be Clear, Shannen Doherty sat down with former Charmed co-star Holly Marie Combs and revealed that she didn’t leave the show of her own volition, but rather claims that she was fired after Alyssa Milano threatened production with a lawsuit if the actor wasn’t kicked off the series.
“The narrative that I ‘quit’ was assigned to me by other people,” Doherty said. “I didn’t assign it to myself. I think I’m at that point in my life where I don’t want to keep lying about it, and I don’t want to keep lying about something that meant the absolute world to me, something that I loved doing. Shannen Doherty and Hollie Marie Combs revealed on the “Let’s Be Clear” podcast (via Huff Post) that Doherty was fired from “Charmed” due to an alleged ultimatum their co-star Alyssa Milano gave producers. A feud among the actors reportedly led to Milano telling “Charmed” producers they had to fire one of them, and if it was her she would threaten to sue them for a hostile work environment.
According to Combs, it was Milano who strong-armed the producers into firing Doherty after three seasons. While Doherty has often said she chose to leave “Charmed” on her own volition, it appears that was just a cover-up planned by her team at the time since she had already been forced off “Beverly Hills 90210.”
“One can’t keep telling the same story over and over and over again, when it’s not the truth,” Doherty said.

The Dec. 18 episode of Doherty’s Let’s Be Clear podcast features the second half of her interview with sister witch Holly Marie Combs, during which they recall the “her or me” situation with Alyssa Milano that ultimately led to Doherty’s untimely exit in 2001.
“I just want to make sure everyone knows that there’s zero hate here,” Doherty begins. “The past is definitely done and over with, and it’s not even like we really talk about this at all.

The shocking murder of New York public school teacher Jonathan Levin is re-examined during the latest episode of Oxygen’s true crime series, New York Homicide.
Levin, who taught English at William Howard Taft High School in the Bronx, was found in his apartment, bound and shot dead. At the time, he was dating Cleo Tejada, also a teacher, who hoped to marry Levin someday.
Levin’s backstory goes deeper than being a beloved teacher. He was also the son of Time Warner chairman Gerald M. Levin, which made this case even more high profile.
The suspect list grows and, in an exclusive clip shared with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Tejada revealed she had a jealous ex-husband who was not happy she was dating Levin.
Cleo Tejada had an altercation with her ex
Tejada and Levin had gone to the Dominican Republic to meet her family and had talked about marriage.

To entice Goldie Hawn back to the big screen -- for her first film in 15 years -- it took a special script (Snatched), a special co-star (Amy Schumer) and a special director: Jonathan Levine, whose past work includes the cancer dramedy, 50/50, and the stoner Christmas carol, The Night Before. In his latest, Levine is tackling mother-daughter bonding (and snatchin') and Et phoned the director to discuss the road to bringing Hawn out of semi-retirement, doing improv with Schumer and the movie he would like to direct with Jennifer Lawrence.

It is obviously a good time to be Amy Schumer, but it might be an even better time to be her agents. (Also, it's a pretty good time to be Schumer's new manager Guy Oseary, best known as the Hollywood big shot who manages Madonna.) Not only were they able to take what was a $1 million book advance and turn it into an $8 million one, it appears movie studios are also getting into the paying–Amy Schumer–a-lot-of-money business. THR reports that after Trainwreck grossed $138 million worldwide this summer, Schumer's acting fee took a huge leap, going from $300,000 for Trainwreck (which doesn't necessarily count what she got paid for writing the film, or backend revenue) to $4 or $5 million for the currently untitled Jonathan Levin–directed mother-daughter comedy. It's not clear if this includes the fee she will get for executive-producing and rewriting the original Katie Dippold script.

In conjunction with the hoopla of Up Fronts week, TNT and TBS have announced a few series that are “in development,” meaning they haven’t yet been put on the schedule and may not ever be (remember Locke & Key?) but they have at least been given hope. Amongst these series are some that are Mafiosi-worthy upon which we will be keeping a watchful eye. The first two are with TNT, the third with TBS:
The Last Ship – In this exciting action/adventure project based on the popular novel by William Brinkley, the crew of a naval destroyer is forced to confront the reality of a new existence when a pandemic decimates most of the earth’s population. Michael Bay (Transformers) intends to direct the pilot if it is green lit. Executive Producers: Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Hank Steinberg(showrunner and writer) and Steve Kane (writer). Production Company: Platinum Dunes.

“It will be nice to go to an awards show where I’m not afraid green goo is going to fall on me.”
Seth Rogen’s reflecting on – and joking about – the three Film Independent Spirit Awards nominations earned by Jonathan Levin’s “50/50,” which starred the funnyman as a supportive friend helping Joseph Gordon-Levitt through an unexpected bout with cancer. The film took a successful lap around the fall film festival circuit (our review can be found here), and is now in the thick of the discussion surrounding awards season.

Can a movie about cancer really be funny? That’s the question people have been asking since the marketing campaign for 50/50 started. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Adam, a 27 year old who doesn’t smoke, exorcises and recycles, but gets a rare form of cancer that has grown on his spine. Adam learns this about 5 minutes into the movie, so instead of having the viewer wait around to find out, we learn right away. The rest of the movie is Adam coping with the disease and how those around him react. Adam’s co-worker/friend Kyle (Seth Rogen), who he has known for a long time bring the comic relief. Adam’s girlfriend, Rachel (Bryce Dallas Howard) seems to have a hard time with everything. When Adam first finds out about his cancer, he tells Rachel that if she wants out of the relationship, he understands. He doesn’t want her taking...

Chicago – Jonathan Levine’s “50/50” is a daring blend of buddy comedy, light romance, family drama, and, oh yeah, cancer movie. The tightrope act of a script by Will Reiser is elevated in remarkable ways by one of the best ensembles of the year, led ably by the great Joseph Gordon-Levitt, doing career-best, Oscar nomination-worthy work. With amazing support by Anna Kendrick, Seth Rogen, and Anjelica Huston’s most memorable turn in years, “50/50” is as emotionally resonant and memorable as anything released in months. You won’t soon forget it.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
Based on the real friendship and real disease of Reiser and buddy Rogen, “50/50” essentially tries to offer a unique take on the common cinematic structure of a protagonist trying to overcome a deadly disease. Whereas most films that feature a cancer diagnosis follow a traditional, manipulative arc, one of the greatest accomplishments of “50/50” is its general lack of predictability. People...

Rob Corddry is set to join the cast of Jonathan Levin's Warm Bodies. Variety reports that Corddry is close to a deal to star in the adaptation of Isaac Marion's zombie romance novel. He will star opposite Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer.
The story follows an "existentially-tormented zombie who falls for the girlfriend of one of his victims and decides to protect her from his brain-eating brethren as he begins to reconnect with his dormant humanity. Hoult stars as R, a zombie who's different from the rest of the undead, while Corddry will play M, the only other zombie like him ... at first."
I loved Corddry in Hot Tub Time Machine and Cedar Rapids. He will next star in the Jim Field Smith comedy Butter and Paul Middleditch's Rapturepalooza. This sounds like a cool film, and a nice take on zombies. What are your thoughts?...
