“Good evening, Rome. Good evening, Romans. I am finally here, in the city where my heart beats faster.”
Enthusiastic applause erupted from the swelling crowd of fans on the steps of the Roman Theatre at the legendary Italian studio Cinecittà on Saturday as the Gladiator himself, New Zealand star Russell Crowe, stepped out to perform.
Crowe, who was recently named the official ambassador for Rome’s bid to host the 2030 world expo, gave a free concert, accompanied by his band the Indoor Garden Party, performing alongside The Gentlemen Barbers and Irish singer Lorraine O’Reilly.
Dressed all in black — like the rest of the band — Crowe immediately launched a few blues-flavored tunes, filling the stage as a singer with the same ease and charm he has as an actor on stage.
Watching him from the bleachers is Gabriele Muccino, Crowe’s close friend, who directed him in Fathers and Daughters, as...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Better Call Saul” Season 6, Episode 7, “Plan and Execution.”]
If there’s a dominant streak in this first half of the “Better Call Saul” farewell season, it’s the idea of surveillance. Aside from the fact that we’re all (in our own weird way) complicit in spying on the most vulnerable moments of these characters’ lives, they’re already doing a pretty good job of doing it to each other: guys stationed in squad cars tucked just out of view, massive battle stations’ worth of security cameras trained on every inch of the Fortress of Fringitude, and — as we see in this midseason finale — Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) peeping through a pair of binoculars at the massive laundry operation he’s convinced is the disguise we know it to be.
They’re all waiting for a moment of weakness, one tiny slip-up to give them just enough of an advantage to pounce.

Back in Season 2, the relationship between the newly arrived Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Booth (David Boreanaz) ended abruptly after the new Jeffersonian boss was poisoned by a serial killer. Could another deadly pathogen end the new relationship between Cam and Arastoo Vaziri (Pej Vahdat)? That's one of only many questions brought up by photos from this "Bones" episode.
This time, the disease in question is a potential viral outbreak linked to the Jeffersonian's murder investigation.
The squintern of the week is, unfortunately for relationship issues, Mr. Vaziri. Considering this is supposed to be a viral outbreak, he won't be able to leave.
Whatever the disease, danger is in the air. The danger is so great that the team has to wear hazmat suits for part of the investigation.
Even our capable heroes may need some help. Lennie Loftin guest-stars as a scientist who may hold the key to saving the day.
