- Has starred on Broadway.
- Tom is a commercial pilot who has obtained every FAA flight instructor rating, including ATP (Airline Transport Pilot). In the early 90s, he left show business for one year to start a commuter airline service in the Hawaiian Islands, which is still flying. He sold it when he moved back to the mainland. He owns his own plane, which is hangered at John Wayne Airport.
- Tom is a member of the American Medical Support Flight Team (Angel Flight), where pilots donate their time and aircraft to fly patients to hospitals that are unable to pay for such services. In addition, he is a member of LIGA (The Flying Doctors of Mercy), where pilots donate their time and aircraft to fly doctors and other medical personnel to Mexico to treat patients.
