Lil Wayne already has a super successful franchise in Tha Carter series, so why would he want to rest on his laurels?
Young Money Records President Mack Maine exclusively revealed to MTV News that not only is Weezy about to lay down tracks for a sequel to his Rebirth rock album, but the "How to Love" hitmaker is already knee-deep in recording a follow-up to 2010's I Am Not a Human Being LP.
"He's, like, 12 songs in, and he went crazy. He went left. He's in Martian land right now," Mack said of I Am Not a Human Being 2.
The original Human Being was released digitally in September 2010 while Birdman Jr. was in jail. Though Wayne wasn't around to promote it, the album contained singles like "Right Above...

Los Angeles — It's finally here, but the road to Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV was no cakewalk. It's been a long journey, and according to Young Money President Mack Maine, Weezy F. conceptualized C4 in three stages: pre-prison, in-prison and post-prison.
"He did the 'Blunt Blowin' joint as soon as he got out. He actually wrote that one while he was in Rikers," Mack Maine told MTV News of the second track on Tha Carter IV. "But he also did 'So Special' and he did 'She Will' when he came home, which the ladies are gonna love. So that was kinda like the difference."
The first mentions of the LP came nearly three years ago in September 2008 when it was...

Lil Wayne is a superstar act, but the New Orleans Mc isn't just a solo package. When he hits the stage at his I Am Music II showcase, he has his Young Money crew in tow, including Nicki Minaj, Lil Twist, Mack Maine, Jae Millz and Shanell.
It's a lesson the Cash Money Records artist learned from watching Bad Boy and Roc-a-Fella treks in the past.
"That's where I get my little oomph from, when I bring my whole clique out there, and I want them to be heard," Wayne told MTV News. "I remember when [Bad Boy] had Total, Biggie, Ma$e, Junior Mafia,...

Lil Wayne may strike a diminutive figure physically, but on the microphone, the rapper is anything but small.
It's fitting then that in a year when he was largely absent due to a prison sentence, the Cash Money Records superstar marks the end of 2010 with a track that speaks to his burgeoning heft: Two of his protégés, Drake and Nicki Minaj, became superstars this year, making Weezy that much bigger in stature.
According to Young Money boss Mack Maine, Wayne is set to release the first single from his forthcoming Tha Carter IV LP by the end of December, simply titled "6'7"."

Before he was released from prison Thursday (November 4), Lil Wayne made it clear he would be focused on one thing as a newly freed Mc: music.
