- Holds a Private Pilot Certificate with the Airplane, Single Engine, Land rating. This means that he is qualified to fly any single-engined aircraft based on land (i.e., no seaplanes) under visual flight rules only (i.e., no instrument qualifications yet so he cannot fly in conditions requiring instruments).

- Mark Maine placed the song "Nothing's Wrong Nothing's Right" from his Nothing's Right (2001) short film into the soundtrack of his next movie The Month of August (2002). The song was written and sung by his son Brandon Maine and his other son Kory Maine was the drummer in the band Pound Foolish, who performed the song.
- Mark Maine selected and placed the song "Tears of a Clown" sung by Ally Maki in both of his movies Beach Bar: The Movie (2011) and Music High (2012). The song was re-mastered by Tom Voris and The FABulous Rudies and produced by Thomas DellaVecchia. The very familiar song score was originally written and produced by Stevie Wonder and the lyrics were written by Smokey Robinson and in 1967 the song was made famous by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.
- Director Mark Maine graduated from Clairemont High School, which was the inspiration for Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). Being that it's his Alma Mater, Mark Maine decided to showcase the Varsity Football team during the opening credit sequence. So he filmed the Clairemont High "Chieftains" playing the Morse High "Tigers" during their last official game of the 2011 season.

- Mark Maine drew on his experiences from the early 1980's when he was a San Diego Police Officer to write, produce & direct La Migra (2015). He also said a lot of the dialog between Diego played by Michael Copon & his Uncle Manny played by Marco Rodríguez was inspired by conversations between Mark & his own Dad who was also a San Diego Police Officer, and his dad had served on the elite Police Motorcycle squad.
- Mark was told all his life he was of 'German' decent ... For Christmas 2016, Mark & Vida his wife took Ancestry DNA tests, the results came back and to his surprise Mark found out he's actually 'Irish' and not just regular Irish, but a BadAss Viking / Irish ... Well, that sure explains a lot ...
