A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Big Brother contestant and VH1 Famous Food host Mike Malin to fork over $323,689 after losing a claim that attorney Marty Singer had extorted him. The case made waves in the Hollywood legal community and beyond when it went up to a California appeals court last year. Malin had a restaurant business enterprise with Shereen Arazm, a judge on Top Chef Canada. Allegedly, money went missing, and Singer warned Malin via letter that a lawsuit would be filed if the money wasn't returned. He specifically wrote, "I have deliberately left blank spaces

Representing such clients as Charlie Sheen, John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson, attorney Marty Singer has become famous for sending menacing legal threats. But Thursday, a California appeals court will consider whether Singer crossed the line with one demand letter sent two years ago, later determined by a judge to be an "extortion" attempt. Singer sent the letter July 25, 2011, on behalf of Top Chef Canada judge Shereene Arazm to Big Brother contestant and VH1 Famous Food host Mike Malin. It was a night of teaming, scheming & one surprise elimination! Do you think the right house guest got the boot? Twelve hopeful house guests piled into their new home on the July 12 premiere of Big Brother 14, and while they were probably expecting a few surprises, none of them could have predicted the doozy of a twist coming their way. Along with the 12 newbies, four former cast members moved in — Dan Gheesling (Bb 10), Britney Haynes (Bb 12), Mike Malin (Bb 2) and Janelle Pierzina (Bb 6) — to coach contestants for a chance to win an additional $100,000. And that wasn't the only twist! The house guests were also informed that, unlike in prior seasons, someone would be evicted on the first night. Coach Dan's team was the last to complete the first Head of Household competition, putting his entire crew — Danielle Murphree, Jodi Rollins and Kara Monaco — in danger. And yes, it was up to...

Reality shows love their dramatic twists, and never is it more dramatic then to throw one at the contestants in the final episode, which is exactly what happened on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8Pm Et on VH1). But on the way to that moment, we learned that Vinny doesn't take constructive criticism well.
He stormed off before the announcement of the winner. His ego got so out of control, he started telling judges Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group about how he's a movie star and they should have some respect.
Who knew that being a big-time movie star with a Screen Actor's Guild statue in your house means you know everything about the restaurant business?

We've been chronicling the creation of VH1's 'Famous Food' as any self-respecting rubber-necker might do, and the latest tidbit from the trainwreck-in-the-making, an official cast photo, won't disappoint.
In what many (we) are calling a reality show apocalypse, Danielle Staub, Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka are teaming to open a restaurant. The cast also includes Ashley Dupre (call girl to New York's former governor Eliot Spitzer, but VH1 lists her as a "singer"), Oscar-winners DJ Paul and Juicy J from the Three 6 Mafia and 'Sopranos' veteran Vincent Pastore.
The cast will have to complete tasks to get the restaurant (titled Famous Food) off the ground. Restauranteurs Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group will award one lucky "celeb" with a partnership stake in the new restaurant.
The show premieres Sun., July 10 at 10Pm and you bet your bottom we'll be watching this gem.
