With the vast majority of Hollywood’s biggest movies trying to maintain a veil of secrecy right up until they hit the big screen, fans tend to keep themselves occupied in the meantime with speculation and theories regarding what could potentially unfold once the project in question is released.
A quick trawl through the internet will reveal countless possible plot and story directions for any number of upcoming blockbusters, and while many of them tend to be incredibly far-fetched, every now and again an online sleuth tends to be right on the money. Having dominated popular culture for over 40 years, the number of Star Wars fan theories stretch into the thousands, and while many of them end up being debunked, a fair few turn out to be confirmed weeks, months or even years down the line.

When Star Wars first came roaring back to the forefront of popular culture with The Force Awakens, it looked like Disney and Lucasfilm were trying to hit that sweet spot between nostalgia and callbacks to the Original Trilogy while still telling a standalone story with an all-new set of characters, despite how many of Episode VII’s plot beats felt awfully similar to A New Hope.
A change in director might have been the worst thing to happen to the Sequel Trilogy, then, with Rian Johnson’s decision to make some huge deviations from the established mythology causing The Last Jedi to split opinion right down the middle. In fact, the movie generated so much backlash from the fan community that the studio reportedly panicked and sought to retcon as much as possible after bringing J.J. Abrams back as a safe pair of hands to steer The Rise of Skywalker...

He may not have had much screen-time in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, but fans quickly fell in love with Babu Frik, the tiny droidsmith who worked among the Spice Runners of Kijimi. Empire recently spoke with a few of the folks involved in the creation of Babu Frik, including creature effects creative supervisor Neal Scanlan, concept artist Ivan Manzella, and actor Shirley Henderson, and it…...

One way we know that we are inching ever closer to the release of Star Wars: Episode IX is that concept designer Jake Lunt Davies has finished work on the picture. He has worked on all five of the Disney era Star Wars films, and as his contract ended he took a moment to reflect on the creatures he has created and the people he has worked with. He posted the following collage of his creations on Instagram, along with a sweet note thanking the people who build his designs and the directors he worked with, plus the inimitable Kathleen Kennedy, the executive who keeps it all running.
So this week my contract ended on Star Wars EpIX....which kind of means after 5 years and 5 movies, I've finally finished on Star Wars. As a kid this was my childhood ambition and I still can't believe that I've now actually had...

I've seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens three times already, and it won't be the last time I see it in theaters. It's such an awesomely entertaining movie, but by the end of it, we were left with just as many questions as were answered.
After talking to friends about the film, I came up with a list of six of the biggest questions I had for the film. I tried to find information on them, and then offered up my own theories on what it means, or what we could see in future films.
Look over what I've come up with below and feel free to share your own thoughts, questions or theories in the comment section below.
Who are Rey's parents?

Just below is a gallery of several images featuring unused visual effects work from Ridley Scott's Prometheus. The scene depicted is the moment Fifield (Sean Harris) is infected and returns back to the ship in a dramatically changed state. Today a collection of images from the latest issue of Cinefex (via Bloody Disgusting) have arrived showing an alternate look at what the character looked like rather than what you saw in the final film. To go along with that I also have several other pieces of concept images from artist Ivan Manzella (via the Weyland Chronicles) of the character in his altered state. The first image in the gallery is a look at the practical effects used on Harris and how they are largely seen in the film outside of some slight digital work done by Weta, but after that is a look at four images of the CG work that was attempted,...

Many of you may have issues with the story and character development of Prometheus, but the fact is that the visual imagery is awesome regardless. Check out these concept art pieces of the alien biens shown on Lv-223 by Ivan Manzella.
